The Cubs make their first trip to the home of the Angels for the first time since I believe 2004... I seem to remember Todd Hollandsworth running smack dab into the right field wall, yet cannot find a photo or video of it.

EDIT: found it:

Unfortunately, they take on one of the best pitchers in baseball, but the Cubs often surprise us and knock around good pitchers.

Here's to the start of another winning streak.

Go Cubs!

That game went to 15 innings. Box Score.

Have the Angels been to Wrigley Field? When was their last trip?

Angels were here in 2010, which is their only visit to Wrigley Field. This is only the second time the Cubs have visited LAA.

Coming into this season, the Angels were tied with the Orioles, A's and Rays as teams the Cubs have played the least in interleague play (6 games). The Cubs will play the A's later this season in their first ever appearance in Oakland.

Just for fun: the number of (non playoff) games played against each AL opponent:

Houston - 705

White Sox - 93

Minnesota - 24

Kansas City - 18

Detroit - 17

Cleveland - 14

Texas - 12

Boston - 9

Yankees - 9

Seattle - 9

Toronto - 9

Angels - 8 (after this week)

A's - 6

Orioles - 6

Rays - 6

And here are the 6 interleague matchup combos that have never happened as of this moment. They are all scheduled to happen this season.

Braves @ Royals

Dodgers @ Yankees

Rays @ Dodgers

Cubs @ A's

Rangers @ Cardinals

Cardinals @ Angels

Also, the Twins have never visited Washington in interleague play but did play in Montreal. They will play in Washington later this month.

How did MLB not schedule Dodgers @ Yankees before now? Were they waiting for all of the Brooklyn fans to die?

Yeah, I've been waiting a long time for the cubs to come to Oakland.

Ugh, Todd Hollandsworth will get the call with Len on WGN today. JD is at his daughter's graduation.

You know he's just sitting there and touching himself inappropriately waiting for Castro and Soriano to screw up or not run something out so he can go full meatball.

MLB.tv is great. I love choosing between either TV broadcast with an audio overlay of either radio broadcast OR just the park sounds (no announcers).

Why is Pat not broadcasting?

Oh look, Sveum's unwisely trying to squeeze an extra inning out of a starter for the twelfth time in the last week.

Yeah, how ridiculous he put a guy largely cruising along back in with 95 pitches to ideally pitch through the 7th.

Come on, this wasn't the stupid Samardijza decision from the other day.
