Is that even a 10 foot rim?

Unless part of Rose's ACL surgery was to put 4 ft. extensions in his knees I don't think so. It looks like it's 7-8 ft.

Derrick Rose's first regular season game back (maybe? hopefully?) will be in Miami against the Heat as they raise their banner.

“I don’t think Miami is going do it. I don’t think they’re going win three in a row. I think it’s going be too tough psychically and emotionally – so it’s wide open. You got the Pacers and the Bulls in the East, who I think are both going be good. In the West, between San Antonio, Golden State, Memphis, Houston with Dwight Howard, if I had to predict who I think would be in the Finals, I would probably go off the board and say Chicago and Oklahoma City…”

Yeah, Lebron is sooooo psychically exhausted.

The "Madhouse on Madison" sign inside the seating bowl was taken down after the Bulls and Hawks season ended, said Susan Goodenow, Bulls vice president of branding and communications. The Bulls and the Hawks jointly operate the United Center.

It was a planned step as part of a larger initiative to improve the fan experience at the United Center, she said, similar to how the stadium boosted its WiFi capabilities, added four bars on the 300 level and installed two new Hawks statues among other changes over the past two years.

The Madhouse signage was stored securely so it can be preserved for future projects, she said.

In its place, there will be new LED signage to enhance the in-arena entertainment and messaging systems which teams will use during game presentations, Goodenow said.

Also known as, "we had this sign that we were making no money on and in it's place we are putting a LED board to increase ad/promotion revenue."

Deng and the Bulls broke off extension talks and Deng's agent says Deng will explore FA after next season. Meh.

Very meh. I really like Deng, but there was almost no chance that the Bulls could have held onto him without overpaying by way too much relative to his age and talent level, so this is hardly a surprise.

Per Marc Stein on twitter:

Hearing: Veteran guard Mike James on way back to Chicago after stint in Dallas. Signing deal with Bulls this week, I’m told, to go to [training] camp.

Okay Derrick

"I don't recruit. If anyone wants to play with me, I don't mind playing with, it could be anyone in the NBA, but as far as recruiting, I never did and never will,"

"Kirk is someone I could see playing alongside a long time," Rose said last October. "When you're a hooper and you know someone on the court is going into a battle with you, and he's not giving up if he knows you are going to keep battling and I'm someone that will keep fighting to the end, and he's the same as you, so why not have him on the team? Kirk is the first person I recruited."

This was more interesting to me. I just don't care about the Rose/recruiting thing...

"I had to think about my future, and at the time I wasn't 100 percent," Rose said. "I wasn't able to take on double teams; I knew I could get around one person but two people, I wasn't ready for that."

That's more the Rose/rationalization thing.

Whatever, play well and I won't care about much else. We just need to see him on the court every other night so that his words don't matter anymore.
