I'm not familiar with Yeiper Castillo, but that's a most impressive line he's got going thus far.

And what's the story on Kyle Hendricks? Random throw in or specifically targeted in the trade. Is he anything more than someone to add to the Coleman/Rusin/Raley pile?

i'm curious about hendricks too. when we got him, wasn't the general consensus that his reliance on control over stuff would catch up to him when he started hitting the higher levels? sss and he's old for his league, but he's still missing bats in aa.

Vitters in the lineup for Iowa today.

Vogelbach already has two walks on the day.

Ian Stewart isn't. Apparently, he decided he wants to take some of his 72 hours to report after being optioned, despite already being in Iowa. This is the second day he's missed. Awkward.

What a strange guy. There is no way he returns to the majors as a Cub. If it was up to Sveum, I bet he'd have been let go already. Just let Vitters get more reps at 3B until Lake comes back.

I'm just trying to make light of him K'ing a few times. Hell, he's my favorite prospect, I don't want to see him traded.

Baez working on a Brett Jackson Special, BB and 2 Ks so far.

Vitters 2-for-4 with a HR in the first game for Iowa.

Vitters 4-7 all together. And Fujikawa pitched 1 hitless with 1/2 Bb/K.

As for Ian, I have a feeling that we might not be seeing him in a Cubs uniform again, Chicago or Iowa. Hopefully we can at least get a high ceiling 19-20 year old out of it, but a sack full of Yen is more likely.

yeah i'm sure teams are just chomping at the bit to give up a high ceiling prospect for a 28 year old with severe injury and motivation questions who hasn't hit worth a damn since 2010.

Chomping at the bit? No. Willing to give up a kid in the back end of their top 20-30 in exchange for a 28 year old who plays quality defense and still has that glimmer of promise, perhaps.

I'd be shocked if we can even get a single Yen for him.

Perhaps, not.

Maybe there's an excentric GM who wants to make an alphabetical 25 man roster and he needs aa player with a first name starting with "I". Perhaps.

Your typo amuses me, since that's probably where Ian should be.
