So other than just regression to the mean, do we even have a path to a decent bullpen in 2014?

Maybe Fujikawa comes back and is at the high end of our hopes, they give up on Vizcaino starting quickly and he moves to the pen, and we get one good offseason signing.

I think Fujikawa, Russell, Bowden, and Rondon are all decent pieces. I doubt they pull the plug on Vizcaino starting that quickly. My guess is we'll probably have one of Cabrera, Dolis, Zych, or McNutt in the pen next year. Then, assuming payroll is in the same range it is currently, I think we'll add one solid 3+ mill a year type and a couple of scrap heap guys as well. Plus, I guess its possible Villanueva could be a pen guy, depending on how things go with the roster.

It would be nice if some of the guys in the minors could contribute. Rafael Dolis and Blake Parker might work out. Tony Zych is a prospect worth keeping an eye on in AA.

They all look pretty mediocre right now, at best. The only guy at AA or higher that looks impressive right now is Rosscup.

Man, this was a depressing weekend of baseball to attend outside of Soriano.

Today's game started on an especially ominous note; I got off the train at like 1:15 and there was a team of paramedics wheeling a woman out of the VP entrance below the RF Party Deck, giving her oxygen and a guy on top giving CPR. Didn't look good at all. Hope she's OK.

At least she didn't have to watch the game.

Nothing like a quick 4 game losing streak to crush my feeble attempt at optimism after winning 5 of 7.

Oh well, the playoff runs of the Pacers and Blackhawks will tide me over for a bit.

Sadly she looked REALLY dead.
