Just want you playoff hockey loving heathens to realize who is on your side right now.

something something blind squirrel something something nut.

So is David the blind squirrel and cubbyvirus is the nut?

Well, this is awkward. I thought we were cool.

I was looking for a way to bring it back around to cubbyvirus being crazy, since he repeatedly gave up on the Hawks all year after giving up on the Bears every week all year. You were simply collateral damage in the joke.

I didn't realize Kane and Toews are only signed for two more seasons.

What can we expect for their next contracts? Are they going to have to decide for one over the other?

They will both get raises of a couple million each, and they will both almost certainly remain Blackhawks. Both seem to absolutely love playing in Chicago and they are the two faces of the franchise. I wouldn't be too worried, our dynamic duo should be around for a long, long time.

I know it is too soon to talk about this kind of stuff, but I suspect that the Hawks will buy out Hossa after next season and split his money up and give it to Toews/Kane. I think they will get 8.5 a piece.

I'm still coming down. I haven't gotten [expletive] done today at work. The storm cloud out my window looks like someone holding the Stanley Cup.

the LBJ/Kane bromance is kind of annoying, I'm guessing this was a gift from Kane.

Remember when the Hawks Power Play was going to be the reason why the Hawks had an early playoff exit? Sorry virus, the Hawks won the Cup and their PP was abysmal.

Repeatedly gave up on the Hawks all year? That's rich, considering all I did was question their horrific failures on the Power Play as UMFan accurately put it.

Can you generalize moar plz? =D>

Well it did cost them 1 game in the Finals and I cant remember the effect it had on the DET series, but I presume it was at the very least similar. I'm happy I was wrong. However for any of us to sit here and say we had 100% confidence they would pull this thing out during the DET series and after the Bruins won game 3 we would be liars.

It was a great playoff run and fun to watch.

EDIT: To be fair, I also was irate at the benching of Stalberg and the refusal of pairing Kane, Toews and Bickell. Also playing Bollig was ridiculous. Low and behold, Q finally goes back to it and we turn it up offensively.

In fact I did predict exactly how this one would play out.

I got myself into a rather expensive bet on this series that I am quite happy to have not lost, moreso than happy for having won.

Yeah, Hossa seems like the logical buy out next season.

He just needs to be healthy can't buy out an injured player I don't think. Disc and nerve injuries scare me. Regardless, Rocky will be writing him a check.

I doubt anyone saw the comeback against the Red Wings, but I definitely never doubted the Hawks would win this series, even after game 3.

Several people did. Personally, I always thought the Hawks were a better team than the Wings though that doesn't mean that they'd win (see last year's playoffs vs Phoenix).

People were nervous after every Hawks loss- even the one to the Wild.

if anyone wants to see the cbc versions of the highlights, check out the channel xxxcrosby87xx on youtube, he has everything. they showed bickell's family in the crowd going nuts when he scored the tying goal. also, the nbc broadcast inexplicably didn't show the bench reaction of the game winner, but it's on the cbc version.

Thanks for this. I could watch Emery dancing in the corner of the bench for the rest of my life.

I'm disappointed...I was waiting all day to come home and listen to those Bruins radio highlights, and when I clicked on Banedon's link, it was for Game 5. Blah

Watching the coverage of the celebration on my DVR now, since I ran to Wrigley after the win. Very strange seeing Sopel as part of the broadcasting team on NBC

Jersey and I had no trouble with it. You can find the link here though with a bit of effort.
