Kaplan's a meatball, but occasionally gets an opinion right and I think he genuinely wants the Cubs to succeed, despite his persistent pandering to the lowest common denominator.

Rozner is a racist jerkass who warms himself at night snuggling with his Greg Maddux hairdoll.

And like N&G, his over the top Ramirez hate alone makes him punchable.

Kaplan has the exact same over the top hate of Ramirez. Don't ever forget that.

Oh, I haven't. Don't worry. The only difference is that Kaplan would sometimes give ARam credit for the good things he did, whereas Rozner never liked him and took any and every opportunity to take shots at the only good 3B we've had since the late 60's. Kaplan indulged the meatball hate of the jogging and bat-flipping. Rozner incited it.

Make no mistake: this is a choice between bad and marginally less bad. But there is a clear gap in bad between the two, and if I could pick only one to launch via rocket into the sun, it would be Rozner.

One on one I'd hand it to Rozner as well, but I can't get past the fact that I cannot avoid David Kaplan while attempting to follow the Cubs. Ever since the Daily Herald went full-on behind paywall, I have not noticed Rozner at all.

Rozner I still seem to catch on a weekly basis with whatever horrible weekend baseball radio show he co-hosts. It's like I shut out that he's on it because it's so terrible and just make the mistake of tuning in again and again. Even if it's just for 5 minutes it's enough to hate.

And like it was kinda pointed out, he goes out of his way to STILL slam Aramis; Kaplan would slam him, too, but would typically do it after a specific game and would actually give him credit from time to time.

What is Kaplan broadcasted on now? I never listen to WGN, so if he's still there I've shut him out, and I haven't watched CTL in a looooonnnnng time. Does that even still exist? If it weren't for Twitter updates here I think I'd have him shut out.

I'm annoyed that I used to actually like Kaplan when he and Waddle did the show on WGN radio. I'm not going to claim I'm a sports genius now, but [expletive] hell was I a dumb sports fan back then.

I think CTL exists in a new form that doesn't acknowledge the Tribune. He's all over CSN.

I know he does the post-game show still, yet somehow Hollandsworth was actually even worse.

And I blame Kaplan for essentially creating the Hollandsworth monster.

The funniest thing about CTL was how often they had the [expletive] bartender from Harry Caray's on their stupid, terrible panel discussion. Chicago sports media is so bad they regularly had this bowtied doof sitting up there talking about guys "playing the game the right way."

Kaplan anchors the coverage of any Cubs news events that might otherwise be fun or interesting to watch. Theo hired? Kaplan. Manager hired? Kaplan. Ricketts have something to say? Kaplan.

Oh, without a doubt; Todd completely comes off as a Kaplan-clone with everything he says. It's clear he came into that job with no [expletive] clue as to what he should do and Kaplan took him under his hairless, meaty wing.

Mike North owned a hot dog stand and turned it into a hugely successful radio gig and a freaking morning show on CSN.

Holy [expletive], Mike North; you want to talk about blacking out a terrible memory. That guy was such a gigantic sports media presence here and now he's basically just gone...it's so wonderful.

He still subs on Fox Sports evening radio sometimes. He's as terrible as ever.

Man, I don't even know what station that is, thankfully.

And Murph basically being gone, too. I remember when I was growing up and we'd come back here to visit family my dad would want the Score on constantly and seemed like these two Mike idiots were just ruling that station from morning until night; it was a nightmare. And then ESPN unleashes Mike & Mike...KEEP MIKES OFF OF THE RADIO.

I can't get the Score on my car radio at night here...so some nights I'll turn on the local sports radio station here, which happens to carry Fox Sports radio when there's not a local game on, and so I've heard North a couple times.

Apparently you can still hear Mike Murphy during the baseball season...

Yeah, he's from Philly. His accent isn't huge, but it's there, so my guess is he's been in Chicago a long time. Whenever it was Bears/Eagles or Cubs/Phillies he'd say something Philly-centric. But he's obviously talking about Chicago sports. Or at least he did, apparently his twitter ended in 2011.

It's no longer Chicago Tribune Live because the Tribune quit sponsoring the show, and if you notice, there's not a main sponsor of the show in its current form. With or without the Trib involvement, it's still a meatball show of the highest variety. I haven't watched it in a couple of years probably.

Hopefully there was a terrible death.

I sent Rozner an email inviting him to a chicken sandwich lunch at my expense after he wrote the terrible diatribe about Aramis and cockfighting. He sent me a real nasty email in response.
