Your Brett Jackson K% heading into today is: 32.3%

Poor Brett isn't even close to Javy Baez (11K/26AB/1BB).

Cabrera gives up 4 runs in 6 innings as Tennessee loses.

Alcantara plays 2B again, I noticed he was at 2nd yesterday also. Was yesterday his first day there, or has he been there earlier too?

I like it, a lot. His chances are a lot better if he can evolve into an elite defensive 2B. His chances of beating out Castro and holding off Baez at SS are probably not great, so getting started on learning to play 2B sooner rather than later makes a lot of sense to me.

Not a lot of guys who can make that SS-to-2B switch as effectively and quickly as Barney did.

Villanueva entered the game with a .534 OPS, but he got a double today. Still looking for his first walk, so his OBP is pretty ugly so far.

Only 5 games for Soler.

Cool. Honestly, at that number, I half wonder if we add a few to it......(hope not, but could understand why)

That settles that. Definitely going to a Dunedin game the week after next. Maybe I will get to see Soler rock Ricky Ro!

Heh:

@CubsDen: Interesting that 2B Alonso, who was central in Soler fracas, is not in lineup today. Probably not eager to face Peralta and that 97 mph FB.

Yikes. Peralta got roughed up.

4 HR. 7K/0BB, so fine in two of the three K/BB/HR areas, but not in the most important one.

He gave up 11 HR's in 99 innings last year. That wouldn't seem that bad in the majors, but is horrible relative to low-A where few hitters have any HR power. I think in the Midwest league, the HR norm is closer to 4 HR/100 IP than 11. So that's probably going to be an ongoing challenge and issue for him.

Please start hitting, Javy.

I'm confident it's coming soon, but this is basically a continuation from last season.

Of our big 4 super exciting prospects, 2 are injured, one is off to a rough start, and the one that was doing really well just got himself suspended. If our prospects don't start picking up the face I might have to start following...the big league club.

Yeah, this is mildly depressing.

The season's not even two weeks old, Henny Penny.

Didn't say it was necessarily a big deal. Just that I've been looking forward to the minor league season more so than the big league all Winter. More dull than upsetting. For now.
