Maybe Dolis will actually get some appearances this time.

He's a Free Agent after this season. So they're bringing him up to be the 3rd or 4th best LH OF on the roster, so they can "see what they have", and if it's good then he's gone?

The move isn't about bringing Sweeney up, it's about getting Sappelt off the roster.

Dissagree. If that were the case, Why not Bogusevic? He's been out mashing Sweeney as of late? Why not Maysonet or Gonzalez who can at least play a bit of infield? I don't think it's about seeing what they have as his minor league opt out time has come and they want to store him for later when he might be the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd best LH outfielder, depending on who's left when the smoke clears.

Because Sweeney is a better baseball player than any of those players.

So depending on the financial situation, he could be auditioning for a spot next year. He's younger and will be a ton cheaper than say Corey Hart or Mike Morse. DeJesus is likely to be gone by August at the latest. Soriano probably too. Borbon's no lock to stick around, and Jackson and Szczur aren't sure things either. we'll need someone in the outfield until Soler and Almora are ready.

What are you OH MY GODding about? If they don't plan on much spending next year, may as well audition as many Mike Sweeneys and Scott Bakers as there are holes without internal options. I'm not saying he'll be great or even good. Just worth a look. Certainly over Brent Lillibridges and Justin Germanos.

@Rotoworld_BB: Carlos Zambrano signs with Long Island Ducks http://t.co/rPKKCd865P

Surprised I've yet to see this here as it's from yesterday. He'll play along side Vlad Guerrero, social anxiety disorder alumni Ian Snell and Dontrell Willis, and former top prospect Josh Barfield. Good luck big guy. Remember, gator aid coolers don't grow in trees in the indy league.

The trees themselves are the gator aid. Gators can't climb.

Well it is 6:54. Close enough.

Back to Stewart; am I correct in thinking that if someone ha claimed him, we could stick them with the rest of his salary? If so, I guess it makes sense that nobody claimed him.

The Yankees are evidently about to trade for Alberto Gonzalez. I guess Cashman and Theo just wanted to finally make a deal for the hell of it.

We'll likely receive something similar to what we sent the Padres for Hoyer.

And how did we find a taker for this non-descript, noodle bat middle infielder but we can't pay anyone to take Ian Stewart.

If there is anything worse than a crappy player, it's a crappy player that pouts and causes problems?
