The Miami Heat official NBA facebook page posted:

Breaking News, Derrick Rose will be ready for game 6!

Such a classy organization.

It's kinda funny though.

Not particularly original, however, as that joke was all over Twitter last night

Exactly.

The Heat are unbeatable in a 7 game series and the Pacers have no shot at beating them.

Whatever helps your meatball brain sleep at night I suppose.

You are the one being a meat ball. The 2011 Bulls were a far superior team to the 2013 Pacers, and a Heat team that isn't even as good as they are now, beat them in 5. The Pacers don't have a chance against Miami.

The way the Heat are playing now, they are very beatable.

Yeah, not really.

yes, really. wade was actually playing on 2 legs in 2011. i don't think the pacers will beat them, but the heat are vulnerable. i think memphis would beat them if they played right now.

I think there is a lot of room between vulnerable and "very beatable."

The Heat are much deeper and more in sync now than their 2011 team was, even if they had a healthier Wade. Memphis would have a chance, but I still think there is no way LeBron would lose 4 out of 7 to anyone right now. It just won't happen.

(I am a Bulls fan, btw, not a Heat homer. I can't stand them or LeBron.)

LOL @ this guy

The heat aren't far from becoming a little better version of one of those Cavs teams the way Wade is going.

This was spot on.

Little premature, no?

I don't think tonight's outcome changes anything about the quotes above. Even if the Heat win they have shown that they are indeed "very beatable" no matter what NYCF says.

No one had any reason to believe the Heat shooters would stop making shots at their expected rates or that Wade would be murdered and propped up Weekend At Bernie's style. This is a different team than it was when those statements were made and the people who believed Miami would roll on Indiana had more reason to believe than the people who thought Indiana had a good chance to win the series.

So yes, [expletive] happens, and anyone who thought this series would be a walk a month ago (me) turned out to be wrong, but that doesn't indicate a lack of understanding of the game of basketball.

There was some reason to believe the Heat wouldn't shoot at their expected rates. The Pacers did have the lowest 3 point percentage against on the 2nd fewest attempts in the regular season. Allen had two scoreless games (out of three) against the Pacers this season and went 1 for 9 from 3 during the regular season against them. Battier had games of 0 and 2 and went 3 for 11 from 3 point range against the Pacers. And Battier in particular is a corner 3 point specialist, and the Pacers just don't allow that many of those.

Now was that enough evidence to believe that it would likely continue in this series? Probably not. But it didn't come out of nowhere. It was a reasonable possibility before the series started.

As far as Wade, it will be interesting to see (if the Heat win tonight) how much is the Indiana defense not allowing Wade to penetrate and Wade not being a good jump shooter versus how much he's hurt. He definitely is hurt, but I'm not even seeing the same moves as I saw him make in the Chicago series. It has been shocking to see his tentativeness at times, especially after Indiana saw Wade at his best last year during the second half of the series.

Don't suppose Old Style considered the '98 Bulls very beatable.

It's been a long time, but I don't remember everyone other than Jordan playing like [expletive] for most of the first 3 rounds of the playoffs.

They were taken to 7 games against the Pacers in the ECF as well. They also needed overtime to beat a team coached by John Calipari and have the exact same playoff record heading into the Finals as the Heat do. But there I go comparing Michael Jordan to Udonis Haslem again.

That 7 game Pacers series is really overlooked/forgotten about. Easily the scariest moment in any of the six championship playoff runs.

To be fair, that 97-98 Pacers team was much better then this year's version of the Pacers. That was a 58 win team that was top 5 in both offensive and defensive rating and probably would have beat the Jazz in the Finals. This year's team has wonderful potential, but doesn't have the ability to score in multiple ways and got a little lucky to match up so well with all their opponents. They did not match up well with San Antonio and probably would have gotten destroyed in the Finals.

Time to sound the SSR alarm...

"It's really not a comparison. If LeBron was playing in the late '80s and early '90s he would be just an average player," Rodman said Friday on "The Dan Patrick Show." "To do what Michael has done ... what he did was more charisma, there was more articulating and stuff like that. LeBron is more like ... there's no flash to his game. He's a great player, don't get me wrong, he's a hell of player, I'll give him that. But to me Scottie (Pippen) and Michael are probably the two best 1-2 punches I've ever seen."

"I'm just sick and tired of people comparing (James) to Michael Jordan," Rodman said. "It's a whole different era, man."

Rodman said Jordan thrived despite playing in a more physical era in the NBA.

"LeBron came into the age of the game at a perfect time. Michael came into the game when back then you could hit people, knock him down, shoot a free throw and get back up," Rodman said. "And LeBron can't do that. All they do today is (complain) about a foul. All they do is (complain)."

Rodman believes his best Bulls team would easily defeat James' Heat.

"It would be no contest. The Heat has better talent than we had, but we had smarter players," Rodman said. "That's the only thing we had, smarter players. ... I would take Bosh out of his damn game easy. That's not even a problem. And how would Dwyane Wade match up with Scottie Pippen? Really? And Scottie Pippen would guard LeBron easy. And how are you going to cover those two guys (Jordan and Pippen)?"

Wait, what?

Yeah, if for the sake of argument you say Lebron and MJ cancel each other out, the old Bulls still pretty clearly had more talent on the team.

Maybe, though local radio guys posited that if you put MJ on the current Bulls team her win just as many rings as he did on the 90's teams

Tom Thibodeau and Monty Williams will join the returning Jim Boeheim as assistant coaches for the U.S. Olympic men's basketball team, a person with knowledge of the details said.

Thibodeau and Williams will work the next three years under coach Mike Krzyzewski. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the hirings were to be announced later Monday.
