Great MJ article on espn.com today. I thought it would be another "he's 50" fluff piece and in many ways it is but I found it engaging as the writer spent a lot of time with him recently and it's very much an insider account of MJ and his inner circle and what drives him these days.

Great read.

Captures what a competitive prick he could be. But of course that's what made him so great. Damn I miss watching him play.

It's a good story, but another reminder that he's a seriously [expletive] up person who probably needed therapy.

Don't you think that probably goes for the vast majority of professional athletes? Or at the very least, the upper echelon?

Oh sure. I'm just always in awe of his personality any time I read something about him. Being his friend probably has awesome perks, but it must be a chore to put up with him.

Just finished that article. Great read.

I see MJ the same as many other virtuosos you hear about. The traits that caused them to be great are the same things that make them insufferable. Steve Jobs is probably the most recent example.

Also, try to imagine being Michael Jordan. Every single need is catered to every single day. I know I would find it hard not to be a giant prick after awhile.

Here is an amazingly cool video of raw baseline footage from the game where Jordan made The Shot against Cleveland.

The part right after the shot where the reporter/cameraman run out onto the floor is priceless.

I remember watching that game like it was yesterday. Damn this Michael at 50 stuff makes me feel old.

But if all my teams suck forever, I got to watch and root for the greatest athlete of all time. So I can't complain.

Loved that clip.

Been watching old MJ games off DVDs all day. Great usage of my day.

I really wanted to read The Jordan Rules this weekend, since I remember reading it years ago and loving it, but I gave up after the first couple chapters, because all of Sam Smith's fake Jordan "quotes" were so egregious. I couldn't take it.

I was watching that part and it was hysterical. Reminded me of my friend playing as a 9 year old when he would swat anyone who came near him while he was dribbling.

Chris Broussard via a RealGM poster:

Told by a person who was at the practice, watched the entire workout that Rose looked great. And that he’s “ready to go.” He asked his source, are you saying he’s able to play in games at this point? The source said “yes.” Source said it’s all mental now. It’s just a matter of him getting back the confidence in his knee, that it’s strong enough. And he said repetition will do that. So if you see Derrick practice several days in 5-on-5’s you would think, according to my eye witness that he will be back very shortly.

I really don't know what to think anymore. I'm just gonna let it play out and not live and die on every tweet or quote that comes out.

The Bulls Show ‏@TheBullsShow

Rose reportedly "dominant" at practice yesterday per @CSNBullsInsider... I'm guessing that's what happens when Nate's guarding you. #Bulls

@CSNBullsInsider: Planned to relax with all the @drose stuff, but since it's clearly not going away anytime soon, I also heard good things about Monday's...

@CSNBullsInsider: ...practice, which included his 1st 5-on-5 scrimmage. I was told he looked dominant, best player on the court, etc. Unsurprising, really...

@CSNBullsInsider: ...but none of it matters until HE is ready to play. I hope people (fans and media) can understand that. Everybody has their own pace.

DRose scrimmaged 5-on-5 again. Hinrich, Deng, Boozer and Hamilton just shot, did walkthrough portion. All, except DRose, expected to play.

....and one more update.
