And I might buy that if they could beat the 49ers or Packers or any other good team.

And if the niners could beat the vikings and if the packers could beat the seahawks i might believe the same about them.

The Colts would've been better to use there than the Seahawks.

Seahawks are NFC tho

They are? Whoops.

Walter's latest mock has us going DT/CB in the first 2 rounds. If Emery did that he'd come under intense fire for not addressing the OL.

Arguably the strengths of the team right now. Weird. That is unless the Bears land Clady or Jake Long before then. Still, a RT in the first wouldn't hurt.

FWIW, my work in progress mock draft has the Bears taking

1. DJ Fluker, OT/OG, Alabama or Dallas Thomas, OT/OG Tennessee

2. Jordan Poyer, CB Oregon St

4. Jordan Hill, DT Penn State, though TE (not sure if a Toilolo, Stanford would fall here) or LB (Jon Bostic, Florida) are a potential picks here

5. LB (not sure who), TE (DC Jefferson, Rutgers is interesting)

6. Watchout for backup QB at this spot. I like Sean Renfree of Duke or Brad Sorensen of Southern Utah

Well if Melton is re-signed we wouldn't go DT first. I think a young CB is a need though.

the Bears have knocked them out of the playoffs 2 times in 6 years.

I'm pretty sure David was referring to an inside joke from a few weeks back.

Wasn't that in the Super Bowl?

Robbie Gould kick in OT I think was one.

In the first quarter this season, Cutler has been sacked eight times and thrown four intereptions. He has -404 DYAR in the first quarter, far and away the worst in football. Nobody else is even at -200. However, he's fourth in DYAR in the fourth quarter and overtime.

Maybe we should come out running the ball in the 1st quarter?

in David's defense, the seahawks used to be in the AFC, so you can hardly blame him for being so very very ignorant in this situation and assuming that they are still in the AFC.

I have a hard enough time remembering what division the Bears are in.

Nah, I'm still in favor of calling the play action passes on first down.

Interesting, but what's the root cause? Does our line get skittish? Is it because the opponent's DL is fresh? Is Cutty's 4th quarter excellence padded by some garbage time performances? How much of this can be attributed to variance vs. a legit trend?

I demand answers, damnit!

My guess is probably 2nd half adjustments by the O-line probably improves protection late. And defenses getting tired.

And, for the most part, the Bears been playing with big leads, so Jay hasn't necessarily had to risk any throws that could have negatively impacted his numbers, whereas most QBs have been behind at least 2 or 3 games so far and had to take some risks and had INTs that they may not have had in the first half.

I just posted about this on my blog. READ IT!

But as you will read, I think it's a combo of everything. The OL has been terrible early. Cutler has compounded it by being skittish himself. Tice has made it even worse by dumbing the offense down for a couple drives after the rough starts.

Sometimes your favorite quarterback is your hero, and sometimes he is a baby-armed Marxist infant amateur cowardly idiotic child stupid fraudulent chickenshit baby clueless crybaby who should be benched and shot off to some planet more hospitable to horrible crap-ass quarterbacks with no pocket presence who just get sacked and throw interceptions all the time because they're awful three-year-old morons. This quarterback of yours is capable of being either of these things at any given point in time.
