Packers will still be 6-3 coming out of the bye. The only player getting hurt that would cripple that D is Matthews.

Oh come on. Aaron Rodgers.

Well yeah, I meant on Defense. If Rodgers wen't down the whole team would be crippled.

In what I assume is part of an all-out plan to tank for Matt Barkley, the Chiefs are starting Brady Quinn this week.

Crennel said Quinn will take the reins "without having to look over his shoulder."

Malarkey for Barkley?

[expletive] for Matt.

Apparently censored. Past tense for a bodily function that rhymes with Matt.

Wouldn't it be tank for Geno Smith?

Well, it is the Chiefs.

Seriously though. Raji, DJ Smith, Nick Perry, Sam Shields, Desmond Bishop, and now Woodson. No effect. It's sickening.

Those are all average players, at best.

And even though Collins was hurt last year there was still hope he might be able to come back this year but the doctors didn't clear him during the pre-season.

You're wrong. But even if you were right, NFL average is better than what they've been replaced with.

Yeah but is also over half their starting defense. Actually I don't know how many of them are starters, but if most of them are you have to think they are being replaced with less than average players.

Raji's been living off the hype of the NFCCC two years ago. I don't notice any difference with him out in the Packers run D. The rotation they got picks up just fine.

Nick Perry is their Shea McClellin, young and not really a factor right now, and corner they drafted(Heyward?) might be better than Shields and they still have Trammond Williams, their best corner.

see this is why its a huge problem to have 6 people on defense out. I glanced at the Packers depth chart while making that last post and saw this:

When your number 1 receiver, who hasnt played in several weeks is coming back to start at SS for the first time in his career just to survive another injury, that's a problem.

In all honesty, unless Clay Matthews, Aaron Rodgers, or another WR in addition to Jennings gets a signficant injury, injuries are not going to effect them much, they have great depth that they can plug in across the board.

Speaking of Packers injuries, how will Jennings injury affect the market for him in Free Agency? I ask because I'm curious if he'd give GB another year for cheap and then hit the market, or if there is a team out there that will still throw the cash regardless of his injury status this season.

This is what having a competent draft does to teams.

Just saw the ending of the Saints-Bucs game.

Is there a point to the rule of not allowing a guy to go out of bounds and then be the first player to touch the ball? And more specifically with regards to this play, why can a guy get shoved out of bounds by a player on the other team and not touch the ball first?

This is just what's so frustrating about analysts talking about this play. They all agree it's the rule and then nod in agreement to the call. Ok fine, but not a single one of them is questioning why the rule is there to begin with, or wondering what the spirit of the rule is. Did the competition committee have situations such as the end of the Saints/Bucs game in mind when they created the rule? Was the rule created too generally, and now it's affecting situations that they didn't intend?

i do a yahoo picks thing against the spread... this past week i was 0-for-12 going into MNF but did get the lions to cover against the bears. not sure i've ever done so poorly ATS in a single week.

The odds of getting that many wrong have to be similar to/the same as getting that many right so I would just pretend that's what happened and celebrate.
