Why the hell did the Bears accept the illegal contact penalty?

 

They gave up 8 1/2 yards of field position to take 1st and 10 instead of 2nd and 1 1/2... then they ended up 3rd and 1. Those are the types of Lovie Smith decisions that just leave me scratching my head sometimes.
