Ben Wells line might not look pretty: 2 IP 3 H 3 BB 1 K, but the fact that he didn't give up any runs despite it is rather impressive in it's own.

He wasn't able to locate anything. I believe he also had 3 wild pitches to go with the 3 BB and HBP.

That's gotta be the best lineup Boise has ever had while a Cubs affiliate. The top six in the lineup all have a really good chance of making the bigs. Even the bottom three have a shot if things break right for them.

Marco Hernandez just missed a HR - leadoff triple in the bottom of the 4th inning. Boise still down 1-0.

Pierce Johnson's final line: 3 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 4-3 GO-FO

Wow, sounds like he just crushed a hanger. The grand slam was with 2 outs.

Third grand slam of the year for Shoulders.

Blake Perry's first 3 innings against Boise: 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K.

4th inning: 0.2 IP, 2 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 0 K. The 2 hits were a triple and a home run. Walks and XBH are awesome.

The 2008 Boise team has Vitters, Josh Harrison, Ryan Flaherty, Tony Campana, and Marwin Gonzalez currently in the majors. Cashner, Coleman, Beliveau and Carpenter on the staff.

The 2002 team was absolutely loaded though. Robinson Chirinos, Micah Hoffpauir, Ronny Cedeno, Dwaine Bacon (31 steals in 63 games), Matt Craig and Kevin Collins were somewhat intriguing power hitting corner IFs for that team, at least similar to Shoulders. Felix Pie and Geovany Soto made brief cameos there as well. The pitching staff, though, was nuts! Ricky Nolasco, Andy Sisco, Jae Kuk Ryu, Rich Hill, Luke Hagerty and even Justin Jones were all top 10 prospects in a GOOD Cubs system at one point. Randy Wells, sadly is the 2nd best major leaguer from that team though, and he was catching at the time.

Previous year's rotation featured: Dontrelle Willis, Sergio Mitre, and Angel Guzman.

It's going to be hard to find a more prospect laden team in full season ball next year than Peoria. Daytona with possibly Baez, Soler, and Paniagua will be fun as hell too.

That 2002 rotation was sick.

The 2001 rotation also had Felix Sanchez and Carmen Pignatiello who both made brief cameos in the big leagues. Sanchez gave up a grand slam and got the win in that game the Cubs came back from a 6-0 deficit against the Cardinals (where Dusty and TLR got into it). It's crazy that all 5 starters in a shortseason baseball pitching rotation made it to the big leagues.

HA. I was going to mention Sanchez, but didn't know if anyone would remember him. I was a big fan. Piggy (Pignatiello) was pretty solid for a while too.

The 2008 team had a bunch of guys reach the bigs, but nobody had a ceiling better than bench guy other than Vitters. I think that all six of the first guys in the lineup this year have at least an outside shot at being a decent starter in the majors.

2001 & 02 win the pitching contest hands down, though.

Ugh, lead blown. 4-4, mid-6th.

Nathan Dorris had a nice inning to stop the bleeding. 2 groundouts, 1 K.

Leadoff man for Yakima reaches on a bad call just a few minutes after Vogelbach's horrible strikeout call. That runner just ended up scoring.

Yakima up 5-4 in the bottom of the 9th.

Albert Almora leadoff single.

Rock Shoulders struck out for the first out but Almora stole second.

With Willson Contreras up, a wild pitch advances Almora to third base.

Contreras struck out. Two outs.

Trey Martin struck out. Almora stranded at third and Boise loses.
