Cubs in process of moving MWL affiliation from Peoria to Kane County. Sad day for the whole Chiefs org, who represent Cubs w/ total class

This is interesting. I checked and they didn't have any more info on micubs.com . The location in the suburbs of Chicago is an unbelieveable coup for the Cubs. I know I've enjoyed my time at the Chiefs games (going again this upcoming Sunday), but man just driving to Kane County would be amazing!

Amazing. The only time I ever see Chiefs games is when they play in Kane County. I will probably go several times a year if the Cubs switch to Kane County, especially with the young talent likely coming through there under Theo.

Having cousins living in Naperville rather than closer to Chicago is finally going to pay off!

Speaking of the Chiefs...

Peoria Chiefs ‏@peoriachiefs

Now @TimSaunders8 gets a single off his former College teammate Mark Williams. Chiefs have 2 on for the first time today.

If the Cubs move to Kane County, I will have season tickets and do everything within my power to be at every game or have site coverage there at all times.

There will be pics & video galore.

It will be glorious.

If we're making requests, I want Daytona to move to Lancaster. Imagine Baez and Soler there...

Now, just get [expletive] Daytona to [expletive] move

just say no to the california league.

I was with you until the last few weeks. These rainouts are [expletive] brutal.

No team in the Carolina league is open until 2014. Are the Stockton Ports available for a couple years? :D

also imagine how bad our already-lousy pitching would look there.

you'd get to see some fun 16-14, 4 hour games though.

How much better is advanced A than A? If we would move to the Cal league couldn't we just have the pitchers we thought could actually turn into something just go right from Peoria/Kane County to Tenn and skip the Cal league all together (I would assume with a better approach to player development/scouting/drafting that we have in place now we could accomplish this)? Or is the jump in talent level to big of a gap to expect guys to move from Peoria/Kane County to Tenn regularly without having them face potential road blocks in development by being over matched by competiton?

Insanely awesome. Imagine getting to see Soler, Almora, Vogelbig, and others for like 10-12 bucks a ticket. Can't wait.

It is a tough jump and not advised for most pitching prospects. Nevertheless, some teams with California League affiliates have done just that.

I highly doubt Soler is going to start at Peoria/Kane County next year.

I would think this topic deserves its own thread...oh well.

Seriously.

I snooped around for one here and when I didn't see one, I headed to BCB to read more.

Probably does but it exploded rather quickly. I might split it out later when I have time.

Definitely. There's going to be ongoing discussion and keeping it confined to an old daily thread seems silly.
