Saw the Cubs play the Mets in either 93 or 94. Grace hit a walk off sac fly but I only know this because my dad used to keep the recap from the next day's newspaper for any game we have gone to.

Doc Gooden pitched for the Mets

It was a nondescript game against the Reds, probably 91 or 92. The only thing I remember is that the program had a feature on Ryne and Cindy Sandberg, which in hindsight is hilarious.

It wasn't my first Cubs game, but the farthest back I can remember to was probably Dodgers vs. Cubs in either 96 or 97 or something. All I know is it was a slaughterhouse on both ends. Tons of home runs. Piazza and Sosa both hit bombs onto Waveland.

Cubs lost, naturally.

My 1st game was at Wrigley vs the Pirates. My grandfather took me, he was a big Pirates fan. All I remember from the game was that the Cubs could not hit John Candelaria! The coolest thing was walking up the stairs, and looking out to the field and seeing how green everything was.

My first Cubs game was the last game of the 2006 season, which was October 1st. Cubs beat the Rockies in a slugfest. It was a very surprisingly warm and sunny day. Great game to be at.

Oh, and my tickets were courtesy of Vance. Thanks Vance!!

I think we had a thread similar to this but anyway...

First Cubs game was this one. We got owned by Glendon Rusch. I was like 13 and had only been to a few MLB games but I could tell how dumpy Shea was. Also really noisy due to proximity to the airport. And there were really annoying elderly Mets fans behind us. I remember vividly one lady kept referring to Desi Relaford as "my Desi" the whole game

First baseball game was a Yankees game when I was too young to remember anything. I do know the giveaway that game was a wooden bat, because we still have it. And I'm not talking a mini bat...it was a full size one. Could you imagine the fuss people would make these days?

I think I have posted about these before, but I never tire of stuff like this.

My first game MLB game was Cubs at Reds on 5/20/1989. I vividly remember a washed up Kent Tekulve pitching for Cincinnati, but everything else I recall with great clarity was off the field. Seeing Rick Sutcliffe up close before the game, getting autographs from Mitch Williams and Dwight Smith. Marge Schott confronting me on the field level concourse for wearing Cubs gear.

First game at Wrigley was 6/11/1990. The "wow" moment for me was the first look from the Addison train platform - the organ music just audible above the din, the deep green of the third base stands and the light standards aglow against a red dusk was just as I had imagined and more. Everything on the inside was icing on the cake after that first look, which is now obstructed. This was when the Mets rivalry was still significant, so the crowd was amped and gave Strawberry hell all night long.
