Lol, Heyman now says the Marlins are begging teams to take Carlos Lee off their hands. When did they get him, like 2 or 3 weeks ago?

Someone should probably lose their job over this.

Let's see... you have a giant park that limits the effectiveness of a power hitter and makes it pretty much impossible to play him in the outfield.

You have a young first baseman you already sent to the minors because of his struggles with the park AND are already talking of moving Logan Morrison to first next year full time to improve team speed.

So you trade for a giant player who moves like a cardboard cutout, who can only possibly play 1st on this team.

Then in 2-3 weeks you start the fire sale?

Brilliant....call them about Ian Stewart, they may not realize he's hurt.

Did Houston eat some of the deal?

They got 2 minor leaguers, don't know what kind of prospects they were

But I looked it up and he is due 37mil over the next 2 years, and Miami took him and his stats are pretty much in line with Soriano for this year, and the recent past. please tell me Houston did not get out of that deal straight up!

Houston did send money but I never saw how much. There were implications that it was a lot.

I'm pretty sure his deal is done at the end of this year. He signed for 6/$100 the same year Soriano signed for 8/$138 right?

hahaha jesus christ

The craziest bit of all this is that Garza, Dempster and Soriano could all move tomorrow.

I don't think the pure joy of Nomar can ever be topped for me.

Oh yeah, definately league wide this has been crazy. Is it a perfect storm, or is this a product of the 2nd wild card?

Oh me too, but those three moving would kinda be nuts.

Don't look now but Travis Snider is hugging teammates in Toronto and believed to be traded.

Possible part of a Garza/Dempster deal? (Probably not)

@mlbdailydish Travis Snider has apparently been traded, according to hugs, confirmed visually by numerous sources. More as it develops.

@jaysonst: Latest Garza tidbit: "Very high chance" he gets traded, says one exec. Jays have been bearing down on him.

:-k

Obviously, I'd want more than just Snider, but he'd be a nice 2nd or 3rd piece.
