I can't believe they have the first Soriano home run from Friday listed at 407, especially since they list the second one at 406. It looked closer to LaHair's 460 than the listed 407.

I thought the same thing! I actually did a double-scan trying to find it, and eventually did near the bottom of the list. He murdered that ball, I think they underestimate some due to trajectory, but who knows. My favorites are the LaHair 460 and Maybin's moon shot.

it's gotta be the shoes?

IIRC, Hill had been wearing some weird shoes at the time and they were making a big deal about it.

Actually, they're talking about them at the start of the clip.

yea, i still can't believe that. i don't think i've ever seen anyone hit even the bottom of that building.

I seem to recall Sosa taking out a window in that building or the one next to it on a walk off against the Mets in 1996. I think he had hit the same building a couple days before.

Yes, yes, we know. It was a terrible call, since it suggested that the painful non-sequitor they were discussing was somehow a cause of his mammoth home run. It was bush-league, terrible announcing and it should be derided as such.

Rizzo -> 418

mlb.com's description of this one says it's Rizzo's 2nd career homer. I guess HR's hit with the Padres don't count.

I believe that was agreed on in the latest CBA.

I think it was Barry Foote that bounced one off the street and threw one of the apartment windows. They did a slow mo of the HR, and the dude had the game on TV. He held the ball out of the window for everyone to see. Was pretty classic.

There's nothing better in sports than watching monster homers. Glenallen Hill's was probably the most amazing I've seen. Sosa's that went down the street was awesome too. I also remember his shot off the camera well in game 2 of the NLCS very well.

Kenny Lofton's reaction is my lasting memory of that HR.
