Only 88 pitches through 6, he's also on extra rest I bet they let him go 1 more. Plus he just tied the record for scoreless innings in Cubs history at 33 IP, let him at least try to record an out to break it.

They just said he was done and that the record is 44. Guessing the thought is that he threw about 90 pitches, which is a good step up from the 63 or so he threw last week. Six more scoreless innings, nothing more to prove to the 12 teams scouting him. Get him out so nothing bad happens.

What they've been doing is fun, but for the rest of the year your goals have to change. It will still be fun to watch Castro, Shark, Wood and Rizzo develop and to see growth out of whoever we get back and Jackson and Vitters when they get to Wrigley. Not about Wins anymore, but individual advancement
