Seriously, where does Brett need to get his K rate down to, for people to feel good? 25%, maybe? Or does it need to be lower than that?

I'd settle for a prolonged stretch of 28% or so right now. If he can keep it at 30% or better in the majors, I'm happy.

It's not that 33% is disqualifying. It's just that 33% in AAA might translate to like 40% in the majors.

I'd like to believe he'll be able to keep it at or below 25% in the majors. As such, I'd really prefer he be able to get it around 20% in AAA.

On a side note, I wonder if Theo knows about this place yet? Did UMFan ever get through to the secretary or whatever? It'd be cool as hell if Theo, Jed, or Jason stopped in for a chat. Because with what they're teying to do with the organization, they'd have to be impressed with how much we follow everything.

Dong-Yub Kim with a really long HR for Boise.

So he's a double shy of a cycle. Amusingly enough, going into today, he had more doubles than singles (7 doubles, 5 singles for 12 total hits).

He'll get one more at bat. Candelario with a 2-4 day. I keep wondering when or if we're going to see Johnson or Blackburn in games?

Moustakas (last year) at 22 in AAA (250 PA): 287/.347/.498/.845.

Vitters at 22 in AAA (311 PA): .298/.350/.510/.860

Another decent comparison is Chase Headley, who didn't hit AAA until he was 24, when in 65 games /295 PA, hit .305/.383/.556 with 13 HR.

I doubt that very much. Why would they be impressed by fans who pay attention to the organization? It's not like they haven't seen it before.

i love vogelbach but it's just a shame that he'll probably never play for the big club, if all goes according to plan.

seriously, it is kind of a downer

Arizona Phil[/url]"]Although he has been an AZL "double machine"so far, Vogelbach had not hit a HR going into tonight's game. But he made up for it by blasting a 420+ foot HR to the right of the light-standard in right-centerfield in the bottom of the 5th.

And watching Vogelbach tear around the bases on his opposite-field RBI triple smoked into the left-centerfield gap in the bottom of the 6th reminded me of a man carrying a briefcase and an umbrella trying to catch a bus that's pulling away from the stop.

Vogelbach was really messed-up for most of Extended Spring Training (both at the plate and in the field--he committed a whopping ten errors at 1st base), and that's why he was left behind in Mesa, (Extended Spring Training is approximately equivalent to Boise, while the AZL is considered to be the next click below). And Vogelbach's frustration was clearly evident as EXST was coming to a close, too, as he was slamming his bat into the ground harder & harder with each out (and doing a fairly decent impression of somebody with Tourette's Syndrome) as he probably realized he wasn't going to Boise.

But he finally began to show some life in the intrasquad games played at Fitch Park between the close of Extended Spring Training and the start of the AZL, and it has carried over into league play. He is playing with a lot of confidence right now, and opposing teams are pitching him very carefully (albeit to no avail). This is the Dan Vogelbach I saw at Fitch Park last year.
