who the [expletive] is norichika aoki

Some guy who hit his 2nd and 3rd home runs of the season today. His .844 OPS is bested by but one of our players. There was some minor buzz when the Brewers signed him out of Japan in the Winter.

His 1st of the season was an inside the park job.

Stewart's peripherals have just about caught up to his actuals.

I think I'm quite ready to stop giving a [expletive] about how much luck does or doesn't enter into it and give Cardenas some starts.

well good thing you're not managing the cubs then.

We're talking about a guy who was a legit prospect a lot more recently than Stewart. I have no problem with the acquisition of Stewart, especially considering what we have up, and I have no problem keeping him around, but at what point do we give Cardenas regular playing time? Castro won't be losing playing time to him, nor will Barney, though I woudlnt be opposed to him getting starts over Barney here and there. If not, send him to AAA and let Amezaga hang out at the end of the bench.

Adrian Cardenas: No. 74 BA prospect pre-2009

Ian Stewart: No. 38 BA prospect pre-2008, hitting 25 HRs in the majors in 2009

So, umm, no.

when you post contains the phrase "I'm quite ready to stop giving a [expletive] about how much luck does or doesn't enter into it" you should probably reconsider what you're typing, and at the very least not hit the submit button.

To be fair, there is nothing unlucky about striking out 8 times in the past 4 games. Sure he's been unlucky for the majority of the year but lately he's just been plain bad. I'm all for playing him everyday since we have no other options but it would be nice to see some results sooner or later.

a lot of people have looked awful in a sample size of 4 games. last month he had a 766 ops over ~100 ab's. just saying.

Yeah, yeah it was a ticked off heating the moment meatballish comment. While I'm far from sold on Stewart, I'm all for giving him the rest of the season. Nobody expects him to live up to the hype once surrounding him, but I think he has a shot to get back to his 2010 form, and I question whether Josh Vitters will ever come near those kind of numbers. I'd still like to see Cardenas get regular playing time in Iowa though. Valbuena would likely be better suited for the role he currently fills.
