The last 5-6 years of life have featured a lot of Cardinals getting lucky as [expletive] and it is getting old.

Yeah, LaHair probably gets 10-15 of those every year.

The problem won't be their BABIP. It'll be that they'll be about the 12th best team in baseball but somehow win yet another World Series.

I could handle it better if their 2004 or 2005 teams were the won that won titles but it had to be their mediocre 2006 and 2011 teams that won titles.

I really want that decision to blow up in their face.

Who is the emergency catcher, anyway? And why do I ask, when was the last time we had a third string catcher play without having three on the roster?

It's what the cardinals do. Pick up old trash and get career years out of them. Call up middle level prospects and watch them become all stars.

Oh look, LaHair just got his third hit.

yeah so now all we need is travis wood to start pitching like a cy young candidate (lance lynn), ian stewart to turn into mike schmidt (david freese), soto to keep improving rather than turning into a pumpkin (yadier molina), nd our aging veterans to play like they did during their career peaks (rafael furcal, lance berkman, carlos beltran)

I believe it's Barney.

It's a sad state of affairs on our bench when Reed Johnson against a righty is the best we can do. (Yes, I know he homered off a righty yesterday)

I really don't like that Reed Johnson is our first bat off the bench vs. a righty

It seems like almost daily I find myself wondering what Reed Johnson's place is and finding Brett Jackson shaped holes elsewhere on the roster.
