My son has started pitching in youth ball. We picked up a lot of good tips off a website that highlights the mechanics of Greg Maddux and Nolan Ryan. Both kept their elbows below their shoulders after seperation.

That's one thing I teach my youth pitchers as well. It just seems to create less stress and unnecessary arm movement.

Coming into today, White Sox OF Dewayne Wise had a career OBP of .264, which is the lowest career OBP in history for any OF with at least 1,000 career plate appearances.

Today, though, he's 1-2 with a single (the only hit off Shields), so he may have bumped himself ahead of the next worst OBP of all time, Kenny Williams (.269).

That seems like an interesting couple. He sang the anthem at a Dodgers game, and for those that don't know, he's one of the dirtiest most hilarious people on twitter.

I just pulled up the Indians box score tonight and saw Carlos Santana is batting 6th (thought that was weird since his slash line is .379/.471/.690) so I went to BBR to see where he's been hitting in the order this year. He has 64 PA in the 6th spot and only a handful of ab's in the 3-4-5 (under 20 PA in every spot). While they have Kipnis (.698 OPS) and Cabrera (.710 OPS) hitting 2/3

Fernando Rodney has already given up more earned runs this year (6) than last year (5) despite having pitched 64 fewer innings.

Got this from Ben Badler on twitter. Cubs scout's (still with the organization) report on Mo Vaughn. Nails it.
