with the current interleague play (and the constant interleague starting next year), why do they still reset a player's stats when they're traded from the NL to AL (or vice versa)?

So stupid

Yeah that thing was stupid back in the day when the leagues still had their own presidents and never played each other until the world series, but at least it made a little sense. It's even dumber now.

Edit: On further thought, I guess it makes sense for league leaders and league awards purposes. But when Geovany Soto comes up to bad for the Rangers the first time, as much as he'd like to hide his .199 BA, the Rangers TV network should not display .000 0 HR 0 RBI .000 OPS and pretend this is his first AB all season.

I actually think I saw a player recently who switched leagues who hit a home run and the broadcast it was on ignored the new league stats and just basically carried over his stats from the NL. Escapes me who it was though... I wanna say Ryan Roberts but I'm not sure if that's accurate.

Aaron Cook strike out update - 4 K's in 44.2 innings. That is 0.8 K/9. Fortunately for him, he also only has 4 walks.

We are incredibly sorry about the terrible remark posted to our Facebook wall about Bill Murray. It was supposed to say, "[expletive] Jim Belushi."

Josh Reddick's walk-up music is the old school Stone Cold Steve Austin entrance music. Amazing.

Someone from the Royals has that too. I think it was Alex Gordon.

Still nowhere close to Chris Getz' RBI Baseball music.

I was listening to the Brewers game during my drive home last night. The announcers were discussing Brewers reliever Jim Henderson. He was drafted in the 26th round of the 2003 draft by the Montreal Expos. He spent 10 years in the minors before his debut and is thus likely the last Expos draft pick to ever make their MLB debut.
