My future in-laws live 20 miles from the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, I'm going to catch a Peoria series there in August. Any chance Baez will be with Peoria in August? I'm a minor league novice, this will only be my third time going to a minor league game - and first time seeing a Cubs farm team.

While I'm not sure I'd bet on it, it's certainly not out of realm of possibility. If he keeps up his hot start it may even be likely.

I would think there is a VERY good chance both he and Vogelbach are there at that point in the season.

Doubt Vogelbach sniffs Peoria this season, let alone has a VERY good chance of it.

I hope not, because if he does he might eat it. Sorry couldn't resist the opportunity.

Really? I think he'll probably show up with Baez. Maybe give them both 15-20 games in Boise and move them up. He's got a good approach and big bodied guys need to be moved quicker anyway, due to their primes usually coming earlier.

Not sure I agree with this. Sure big guys will decline quicker, but at 18 thy shouldn't be worrying about Vogelbach's decline. He seems wholly committed to not being a blob, but his skill and tools aren't on Baez's level.

Is there value to giving Baez a running mate through the minors? McLeod was quoted as saying that the young guys competing and growing with each other is a great thing and something they want in the current hard copy BA.

Peoria smells tasty?

I went to Bradley University. I can confirm that due to the breweries in the area, Peoria does NOT smell tasty and in fact makes me gag just thinking about it.

That's an....., interesting theory. Never heard that one.

In his first four Extended Spring Training games, Baez is 9-15 with three three-run home runs, three triples, two doubles, and a single, and in his last game prior to the start of Extended Spring Training, Baez clubbed a two-run HR off Paul Maholm in an intrasquad game at Fitch Park.

Hahahahahaha that is absolutely absurd.

For those of you scoring at home, that's a .600/.600/1.667/2.237 line.

In the comments section, Arizona Phil (the guy who does these great reports for us) says that Baez's double hit the 422 sign.

Says even some of his outs have been near HR's.

I'm really trying to temper my excitement because its just EXT ST. but its getting tough.

I wonder if Torreyes is hurt or just being given a couple of days off? Jensen was already interesting, but he's quickly becoming even moreso
