Where does Eli Manning rank in comparision to his fellow QBs?

for a former #1 overall pick who plays in a huge market i think he's weirdly underrated. i don't put him with brees, brady, rodgers but i'd say he is right there with the next group (rivers, romo?, stafford?, vick). i guess i'd go #5 right now - brees/brady/rodgers in whatever order, then rivers, then e. manning.

After the year Rivers just had I would put him ahead of Rivers IMO. But I would still put Peyton ahead of both of them.

i have no idea what to do with manning because he's old and injured. plus he's just not going to put up vintage peyton manning numbers any more because his team is awful now.

you are forgetting about the zombie-fighter

Meaningless game for the Bears with vanilla game plan. Meant everything to Packers and they barely won

Played the 2nd half with Hanie and Collins and still outscored your offense 14-0 in that half. Held Rodgers to 55 QBR.

Legit domination back when Martz was doing his annual pass happy failure of an offense.

Meaningless for both teams. Bears played with several significant injuries to vital players

What did that get you?

I'm confused. You're a Giants fan?

This thread is awesome....only disappointing this is that every Packer fan has left.

I almost want to un-ban erik.

It's more fun knowing he's probably reading this and can't stand up for himself.

Did you intend to ban me and just forget? I've been back for a while... where have you guys been?

Am I disappointed? Yes. But this was a fun regular season and a hell of a ride. The Giants were the better team tonight and deserved to win. If the Packers can somehow play even league-average defense next year the title is ours with how potent the offense is.

So, sorry, but not emotionally ruined like you all were hoping. It's nice that you were thinking of me, though. :)

He'd probably make one of those stupid "What are the Bears doing today??" comments and then later say something about the Packers winning the Super Bowl last year.

Yeah... facts really suck, huh?

With an offense as dominating as the one we saw today, obviously an average defense would be enough to lock down a super bowl.

But even with more health on that side of the ball the results didn't turn out better. That's.......a bit confusing. The Gnats exposed some big holes that have been brewing for awhile. And Rodgers was very, very human for the first time in a long time today.

Yeah, I think it's pretty obvious the extra week off for Rodgers made him rusty today. I don't know why elcaballo thinks otherwise.

If we're fortunate enough to get in that position in future years, I hope we don't rest him in the final game of the season.

He was. The Giants had a great game plan.

Honestly, the defense was baffling to me. Last year with so many key guys out it was so good, and this year being relatively healthy it completely sucked. Something needs to be done, but I have no idea what that "something" is.

Pray that Nick Collins can come back, sign someone like Calais Campbell or Mario Williams, and draft a whole lot of defense. That's about all you can do.

I think this year showed how important Collins and Cullen Jenkins were on last season's team.

From a Bear fan's perspective: I think the Pack is married to being a great offensive team. Every team needs to make sacrifices at certain positions. Nobody has the complete dominant roster.

The goal for defense should be mid-range, in the 15-ish ranking. Don't neglect offense, especially the ability to protect Rodgers.

And give him a quarter or a quarter-and-a-half in that meaningless final game, if it comes to that.

Yeah, I really do think Rodgers should have played at least a little in that final game. I'd have gone with a half, myself, but even a quarter would have been good. They really paid for it tonight. He just flat-out missed a few throws that he normally makes. Although his WR's dropping everything in sight didn't help, either.

What frustrates me as a Packers fan is that going into the game, if you told me the defense would play decent (not great but decent) and the offensive line would hold up (they did for the most part though there were times where the Giants made huge plays, one being the strip of Rodgers) I would have thought Green Bay wins by at least two touchdowns. The fact is the strength of the team blew it. Rodgers, the receivers, etc. they all sucked today.

No, the defense sucked as usual. They let the opponent have another 400+ yard game.
