What exactly is the selling point for Arkansas, aside from being closer to home than the alternatives? The chance to finish 3rd in the division in a good year? The opportunity to be the next Marcus Monk?

Trying to be as objective as possible, but there is a ton of appeal for a stud wide receiver to go to Arkansas. You can count on playing in a pro-style system with a quality quarterback who can get the ball to you. Tyler Wilson returns next year, who broke SEC passing records set by the previous Arkansas QB Ryan Mallett. He's followed on the depth chart by a redshirt Sophomore Parade All American QB. You have a chance to put up video game type numbers in a conference which is all over TV every single weekend, not to mention playing against NFL caliber players every week. There is an excellent chance that 3 or 4 Hog WRs will get drafted fairly high next season, which means that playing time is there for the taking right away.

Just sayin'...

That's trying to be objective?

That's a lot of facts, not opinions.

I really, really think Missouri is going to have to have big time trouble adjusting to the SEC defenses. Both the QB situations at Texas and OU are in flux. The SEC owns ESPN every Saturday night. Bobby Petrino, love him or hate him, knows how to coach an offense and utilize talent.

Now that's a lot of personal opinions.

Some are facts; some are less factual. All are from your biased viewpoint. Doesn't mean you're wrong (though I share TT's skepticism). But just bc you post quasi-factual stuff doesn't mean your post was objective.

OK man, we're talking about college football recruiting. Just having some fun.

I do think much of what I said is pretty concrete. The fact is with the players leaving Ark this year that there is opportunity there. And the SEC is on TV a lot. And he'd be catching passes from a record setting returning senior. There is a draw there. One of my best friends is a Mizzou alum and I razz him all the time about next year. I just don't think it is on the same plain in an 18 year old receiver's mind.

KU scooped up Justin McCay, a former 4star receiver who'd slid down the depth chart at OU.

OU seems to be losing a lot of transfers. We got a former 4-star RB from there a few weeks ago and I have heard there are more kids ready to jump ship too.

Why is KU turning into the Iowa St. of football?

He's got some baby momma problems. There were reports of him not even going to enroll at OU back in August. I'm still trying to figure out what all the problems are. Guessing its around Stoops eating bags of dicks, and bringing back lil bro.

The Armstead brothers are going to Auburn today, but the dad and Armond are cutting the trip short to fly to ND on Sunday. Hearing mixed reports, but most of them (and my understanding) was that the Masoli rule wouldn't allow Armstead to transfer from USC to Auburn after graduating this year, so his only choices, of Arik's top 5, appear to be ND and the NFL. USC won't release him to the Pac 12. So if the brothers want to play together 1 year, they'd have to go to ND.

That would be a huge get, if you can convince him to play OT and not DT it would be even better. I've been thinking he would eventually end up at Cal, but he seems set on checking out the entire country.

I think Cal may lead for Arik but the chance to play with his brother may be enough. Agreed on OL and maybe after a year or two he'll agree. But he seems to want to stay in BB shape, which he can't do as an OL. Some think he'd be a great DE in the 3/4, so who knows.

Cal does lead for Arik but I've heard they want to play together. One person I know who is generally reliable seems to think Armstead can transfer to Auburn and play right away.

That's the most confusing part to me. But isn't the Masoli rule in effect? I'd read that the SEC even reminded ADs after the season that transfers must have at least 2 years of eligibility remaining. Maybe the injury year last year gives him the possible request for a 6th year which would be an exception?

because we didn't have a lot of talent to begin with, and some of our best players basically flunked out and can't return next year.

Urban Meyer poaches Taylor Decker from ND. This is what I was worried about...this will be far from the last time this happens.

Meyer is going to poach kids from other midwest schools in his time at OSU. If Meyer didn't poach 2 ND coaches, he probably doesn't have a shot with Decker. Decker is a nice player, but he's not a huge loss, relatively speaking. ND has solid OL depth, and with Kelly's recruiting to profile, it's easier to convert other OL or DL to OT to fill gaps. Plus ND has a stud OT verbal commit for next year already in the mix.

The bigger hit from Meyer, imo, is Neal apparently loving his OSU visit. He'll likely land there. That's the kind of playmaker on offense Kelly needs. Meyer running the spread at OSU gives us another midwest school to compete for those players.

Rumors getting crazy around ND. Something about a fallout between Kiel and LSU that could land him back at ND this week (in time to still EE, even though maybe a couple days after classes start). Also Armstead set to announce this morning, then news that Cal's DL coach up and went to UW. Armond spent last night at ND with his dad; rumors that both may be at ND this week.

So Alabama is up to 27 commits even though the SEC put in a hard cap of 25 commits per year regardless of attrition. Satan has already told one of the commits he won't be able to sign until next February even thought he was the 7th commit they had this year.
