Well, we better do something because it's getting really bad explaining to Packer and Cardinal fans that I'm a fan of Chicago. Can we please win something? Thx.

Right now Cutler ==> Marshall is looking like my best redemption possibility.

Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall didn’t disappoint in his first OTA with the Bears, catching several passes from quarterback Jay Cutler against the No. 1 defense.

Marshall and Pro Bowl cornerback Charles Tillman provided the most entertaining match-up of the day.

“It’s fun because he’s a smart DB,” Marshall said. “He’s really good. He’s really talented. He keeps me on my toes. It’s like a chess match out there. The only thing I don’t like about him is he’s in such good shape that he talks all the way through practice and I’m so winded I can’t respond to him half the time.”

Just was in the car listening to Jeff Dickerson's report from OTAs on Waddle and Silvy. Says right now, IIRC, Garza is lining up at C, Spencer at LG, Lance Louis at RG, some fill-ins (Mansfield Wrotto & A.J. Greene) are at RT until Carimi is back, and Chris Williams and Webb are splitting time at LT.

I really don't see how Chris Williams doesn't end up with that starting LT job.

Biggs said on twitter that Knox has lost 30 lbs since his surgery. THIRTY POUNDS? He was already skinny.

Wikipedia lists him at 6'0" 190lbs. So yeah....160lbs? He already couldn't win a fight for a football.

As the Tribune reported, Chris Williams has been moved to left tackle and he split reps with J’Marcus Webb, the starter there last season. Webb said he still considers himself the starter at the position. More on that in another story.

Just judging by sight, Johnny Knox doesn’t look like he will be playing football this season. He’s very thin at this point making his way back from back surgery.

Feel bad for Knox. Doesn't play in his contract year. Nobody is going to give him much of a shot next year to be anything more than a 5th or 6th WR. And with the nature of his injury, I don't know that his kick return ability even matters enough to boost his value anymore.

Bears over/under is set at 8.5

I may have to toss a large amount of money on the over.

Damn, I'm as pessimistic a fan as there is, but even I'd take the over there.

Devin Hester is having the best camp of all the receivers.

I'm really tired of hearing this every year.

Almost as bad as "Rex is our Quarterback."

The more I think about it, the Bears keep signing these washed up DT's when they could of had perhaps a decent prospect in the 4th round. I just don't like that undersized TE pick in the 4th.

It's just fluff. Players do it. Media does it. It's what you get this time of year.

Apparently Cutler is throwing just as good as ever with his surgically repaired thumb. So that's good news.

the ball looks normal coming out of his hand. he's got that nose-down release that is still there, so i guess that's a positive sign.

It is, and it's harmless. But at the same time, it's not inconceivable that Hester could thrive in a new system. He grew in his first two seasons as a receiver and that was with a hack of an OC in Ron Turner. He went from that vanilla college system to Martz's overly complex system and took a step back. But he's still only got 4 years of WR experience under his belt now, no more than a typical 2nd year player. In a scaled back system that is still led by real NFL coaches, and with a really good QB and finally other legit targets around him, Hester could take a significant step forward as a receiver.

It will certainly be nice to not have to entertain the "Hester is our #1 WR" nonsense anymore.

“The past here has been great football-wise," he said. "Coming up as a kid watching the Bears, I used to hear (Brian) Urlacher’s name and you always want to play with those guys -- against them and with them. So now that I am here, hopefully I can get to the playoffs for the first time and win some games.”

Haha...think there's some age jokes heading Urlacher's way for that one?

Looks like that bet is -135, as opposed to +105 to bet the under. Detroit's 9.5 total is flipped.
