I was just going back and looking at the draft recap in the two leagues I'm in, and I was having some fun with hindsight.

- In rd 2, I drafted Hakeem Nicks. The next player drafted was Megatron. Oops.

- I was 11th overall (14 teams, PPR), and somehow Ray Rice was still available.

- I drafted Daniel Thomas 67th overall. Next RB off the board was Fred Jackson. Oops again.

- I drafted my backup QB in rd 6 (74th overall), and chose Flacco of all people. Stafford went 134 overall. "Oops" doesn't come close.

- Jimmy Graham was easily my best value, at #102. (Dumb luck though, I didn't know anything about him.)

- I drafted Mike Williams (TB) #43. Available receivers at the time included Brandon Lloyd, Steve Johnson, Anquan Boldin, and Wes Welker.

With the benefit of hindsight, what were some of the good/bad moves you guys made in the draft, and how did you end up overall? What were some of your key moves?

ETA - I started slow in both leagues, and finished strong (made finals in both, still playing in wk 17). Adding Demarco Murray was key in both of them. Other good pickups included Nate Washington, DHB, Laurent Robinson, and 49ers D/ST.

CJ over Rice and McCoy at #4 was pretty regrettable, as was Rivers over Brady in the 2nd

i killed it in the later rounds and got to the championship game where the aforementioned players laid eggs

Free agency won my league for me this year (Newton, M Bush, Helu, K Smith).

Good picks: Forte until injury (early round 3), Marshall (round 4), Graham (round 8), Stafford (round 9)

Bad picks: Manningham (round 6), Hightower (round 7)

Trading Hightower for Harvin and the aforementioned FA pickups were huge. Probably one of the worst teams I drafted but best in-season management I've ever done.

i went all matthew berry on this s and took vick at three. major yikes, but it would have been charles otherwise. just not my year. having stafford as my backup coupled with welker's early heroics got me the two seed anyway and a close loss in the first round of the playoffs to the eventual champion.

I would have made the same Vick mistake had I been higher in either of my drafts. Thanks to Matthew Berry, I had to settle for McCoy and Rice as my 2 first-rounders. I did take Gates in the 4th round, but luckily Fred Davis was serviceable while Gates was out, and Gates was good by the time Davis's suspension started.

My best team ended up 13-1 and outscored everyone in the league by nearly 200 points, but it wasn't the draft that made the team so dominant.

I drafted from the #9 slot and had McCoy drop to me. He ended up the #1 RB this year.

My second pick was MJD with the 4th pick of round two. He ended up the #4 RB.

My first bust was with my third pick, DeSean Jackson. He ended up being the #31 WR.

Matt Schaub was my fourth pick. He finished as the #20 QB. Stafford ended up being picked in the 8th round by someone else.

Harvin was my 5th pick and he finished as the #9 WR, so he was a nice pick up.

Daniel Thomas with the 6th...bust.

Graham with the 7th pick was my best value.

Fred Jackson (#14 RB) was my 8th round pick.

Not one of the next five players I picked in the next six rounds stuck with my team long.

In round 15, I took a flyer on a rookie 3rd string RB from Dallas, Murray, who paid big dividends while he was healthy.

My team was extremely strong at RB and WR (after picking up T Smith (#22) and L Robinson (#19) from FA) and rode that strength in the regular season. Injuries to Schaub, Jackson and Murray derailed the team in the semifinals, so I didn't even win the championship.

Mark Ingram, 1st pick in the 3rd round wasn't the smartest thing I've ever done. Matt Stafford, last pick in the 10th round may have been.

I continued with my usual theme of getting no value out of my late picks with rounds 11-16

Mike Sims-Walker

Davone Bess

Delone Carter

Javon Ringer

Louis Murphy

Chris Cooley

These guys helped me miss the playoffs with a team starting Stafford, Peterson, Chocobot, and Welker.

Good

- Aaron Rodgers autodrafted to me when I was late to the draft

- Megatron in the 2nd

- AJ Green in Round 6, Julio Jones in Round 8

- Michael Bush in Round 9

Bad

- Nothing from the last 5 or so rounds

- Jahvid Best and Green-Ellis in Rounds 3 and 4

Rodgers and my WR led me to outscoring the league by 150 points, which was good enough for a semifinal loss to a 6-6 team and a 3rd place finish.

I got my playoff team last night (3rd pick/8)

Brady

Alex Smith

Welker

Ahmad Bradshaw

Akers

J. Finley

B. Jacobs

Tebow

TJ Yates

Kuhn

Devery Henderson

Pretty happy with that squad other than I only have 5 guys playing this week. QB's easily score the most points in our league so I'm glad I have 4, even if 2 (or 3) suck.

I should have a good chance if the Pats make the Super Bowl
