I'm in the championship in my money league because I picked up Seattle's defense 10 minutes before noon.

Seattle scored 250 points, my usual defense scored 70. I won by 176 points.

Anyway, I don't have any roster questions this week. Just wanted to brag.

what kind of insanely stupid league gives out that many points?

I heard the explanation once. It has something to do with them doing it by hand in the pre-internet days and it being easier for some reason. Since the league is 15 years old or whatever, they just grandfathered in the scoring when they switched to doing it online. It's basically just an extra 0, so I'm not sure how it makes it easier, but 250 points essentially equals 25 points.

oh, man I'm glad I never played fantasy sports pre-internet. It's too much work online already.

the football league seems doable since you set your lineup once a week, but listening to them describe their old baseball league is horrific. Imagine, if you can, free agent pickups via SNAILMAIL.

So, I'm somehow in the Championship after Cardinalsing my way into the playoffs. Finished the season 7-7 and won a 4 team tiebreaker. Went from stacked, to crushed by injury, to picking the right waiver guys that had big weeks based on matchups. So...

Pick 2: PPR and return yards (not much on return yards, but...)

Brandon Lloyd @ PIT

Percy Harvin @ WAS

Randall Cobb v CHI

Malcom Floyd @ DET

I'm thinking Floyd and Cobb, but Lloyd is the Rams primary target by far and Harvin can break big plays.

Pick 2:

Mike Tolbert @ DET (opponent has Matthews)

Beanie Wells @ CIN

Marshawn Lynch v SF

I'm thinking Tolbert and Wells.

Any thoughts on defense? I'm thinking Green Bay home against Chicago, Tennessee home against Jacksonville or Washington home against Minnesota but can't make up my mind.

I need 2 WRs and a flex (standard scoring, no PPR):

Spiller vs DEN

Colston vs ATL

Wallace vs STL

Moss vs MIN

KSmith vs SD

A few tough matchups in there

WRs:

Colston and Wallace

I'd go with Kevin Smith in the flex.

I finished my season 6-7 and made it on a tiebreaker, but had the 2nd most points in the league, go figure. Now that Miles Austin and Vick are healthy, I am rolling through the playoffs. Here's my situation.

This league starts 12 WRs so it gets pretty thin at the end. I need to start 4 of the following:

Brandon Marshall @ NE

Miles Austin vs. PHI

Jabar Gaffney vs. MIN

Darius Heyward-Bey @ KC

Steve Breaston vs. OAK

Austin Collie vs. HOU

Marshally and Austin are locks. Gaffney is a near lock with how he's been playing. It mostly comes down to the final spot. Leaning towards Heyward-Bey, who almost cost me my season last week by not playing.

Whoever is playing Jacksonville is always a good idea, but opposing defenses are averaging almost 17 pts a game during the Bears' current losing streak. Jacksonville has allowed just over 10 pts per game to opposing defenses over that same time. The train wreck in Chicago looks to be the most profitable option right now.

ETA - Titans D is still available in my money league. I have Bears and 49ers already, but I think I'm going to try to add them too. Not because I plan on starting them necessarily, but my opponent has been playing defense by committee all season (and doing rather well at it), and I don't think I want that option to be available to her. It's worth dropping Mike Williams (TB version) for that.

With the Falcons playing the Saints this weekend, I'm going to roll with both Roddy White and Julio Jones. That leaves these three for my 1 flex spot:

Laurent Robinson (Phi)

Steve Johnson (Den)

Roy Helu (Min)

Which one?

2 RB's 2 WR's and a Flex

Rice (Cle)

Greene (NYG)

Mathews (Det)

Spiller (Den) ...Listed as RB and WR

Bradshaw (NYJ)

Nicks (NYJ)

Austin (Phi)

Bryant (Phi)

White (NO)

S. Johnson (Den)

Been going

Rice, Greene, White, Nicks, Bryant for 6 straight weeks. Won them all. Have not lost in a non bye week. Just nervous about losing now!

I've Got Brady at QB

Gronk at TE

49ers D

Kasay at K

Above are my RB and WR.

I'm going against

Rodgers QB

Witten TE

NYG D

Gould K

MJD RB

M. Bush RB

Benson or Harvin at the Flex

Welker WR

Colston WR

I'm thinking put Spiller in for Bryant, but I might be crazy about that. Keep everything else the same.

In my PPR league, I need 1 from each pair:

Tomlinson (NYG)

Tate (@Ind)

DHB (@KC)

Nate Washington (Jac)

I'd go with Tate and Washington.

If Felix Jones doesn't do any practicing, I may end up rolling with Sammy Morris instead.

Now I pretty much have to start Green Bay even though they suck, right? McCown starting, Barber and Knox out and Hester is questionable.

So here's my waiver wire all star team since everybody I had got [expletive] hurt.

T Tebow @ BUF

D Sproles v ATL

M Tolbert @ DET

P Harvin @ WAS

M Floyd @ DET

AJ Green v ARI

V Davis @ SEA

B Wells @ CIN

R Bironas v JAC

Green Bay v CHI

Lots of good matchups. Only thing I don't like is Harvin and Wells.

Opponent has

M Vick

L McCoy

R Matthews

C Johnson

H Nicks

M Austin

J Graham

M Bush

J Kasay

SF defense

I should lose by no less than 75.

Romo against Philly or Stafford against SD?

That's tough. I think I'd go with Romo since Samuel is out.

Michael Bush at KC or Helu against Minnesota?

Bush. He should be a lock to get over 20 touches. KC run defense is pretty bad, Minnesota's pass defense is awful and Helu is hurt.

My team should be named the waiver wire miracles. I need two WRs, two RBs, and a flex from this mess.

Currently starting

Marshawn Lynch vs San Fran

DeAngelo Williams vs Tampa

Julio Jones @ New Orleans

Vincent Jackson @ Detroit (sounds like he won't go and it's a 315 kick)

Demaryius Thomas @ Buffalo

Bench

Mike Tolbert @ Detroit

Pierre Thomas vs Atlanta

Toby Gerhart @ Washington

Jabar Gaffney vs Minnesota

I'm most concerned about VJax and DeAngelo Williams. If VJax plays he's a must start, damn 315 kick.

Edit: if I wait till game time I can swap in Pierre Thomas or Tolbert for VJax. I've got him in the flex spot for that reason.

Last minute advice. Pick 3 RBs from these 4:

Willis McGahee @ BUF

Rashard Mendenhall vs. STL

Ryan Mathews @ DET

Khalil Bell @ GB

Was leaning towards the first 3, but I keep coming back to Bell, who will likely get every carry against GB, while McGahee is oft injured and has been losing carries to Lance Ball. On the downside, the Bears likely won't have many TD opportunities, and the Bears might be abandoning the run earlier in the game than I hope.

For the record, Bell is projected for 15.5 points by Yahoo, which is more than the other 3 (all around 12-13)
