Wow...Thibs taking his foot off the throttle just a bit?

In a surprise, coach Tom Thibodeau canceled the Chicago Bulls' Wednesday morning shootaround, hours after his team secured the Eastern Conference's top seed when the Miami Heat lost at the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night.

Somebody paste these quotes up in the Bulls locker room, plz.

Asked what it would mean to him to play Chicago in the first round, Turner said, “It means we’re dodging the tougher team. That’s what I think.”

“I think we’ll be able to compete well against Chicago,” Turner said, “and have an opportunity to win the series.”

lol the 76ers are 14-21 in their last 35 games, over half the season, and they feel the need to be talking trash?

Whatever, I don't mind the slighting of the Bulls when compared to the Heat. If I was a playoff team I'd probably prefer to play the Bulls too just because the Heat's star power is daunting, and the Bulls have been banged up all season, especially Rose. Plus from Philly's perspective, they got mostly blown away by Miami in last year's first round and have had success against the Bulls the last 2 seasons.

So yeah despite understanding their preference, I guess I don't get why Turner felt the need to publically diss the Bulls.

They were also 0-4 vs MIA (with 2 blowouts) while going 1-2 vs CHI(all games close) in this year's regular season.

What a yawner of a game. Neither team looked like they cared very much. The Pacers certainly didn't as they let the bench play most of the minutes and didn't even bother going back to the starters in the 4th (and of course they sat out two players as well). The Bulls look like they also played their bench a little more than usual as well although not as much as the Pacers. I wish they hadn't scheduled the only Bulls trip to Indiana for the last game of the season.

Man I hate the Pacers, I can't wait to see them get wiped in the first round

Yeah, they'll probably get swept by a lifeless Magic team.

Hey, that lifeless Magic team recovered to stomp a 7-58 Charlotte team by seven.

It looks like the Knicks are purposely trying to lose tonight to get the 8 seed, after being up 17 midway through the 4th. They pulled all the starters and have stopped playing any semblance of defense.

The Clippers were unable to beat a Knick team trying to lose, so now Memphis is in good shape for first round home court, and the Knicks need only a win against Charlotte or a Philly loss to Detroit to get the 7 seed.

The only matchups (including home court) completely clinched tonight: (1) San Antonio vs (8) Utah, and (3) Indiana vs (6) Orlando.

Bulls attitude towards Turner comments best summed up by Korver: "I'm not going to get into a war of words with Evan Turner .. come play us."

I like it.

As I mentioned in of all places, the Bears thread...

The Chicago Bulls will open their NBA playoff run Saturday regardless of their opponent, with starting time yet to be determined, the league said Thursday.

Yeah, both the Heat and Bulls will have around a 40 hour turnaround from their last regular season game to their first playoff game, which seems a little rushed, especially considering neither knows their opponent for sure (although Philly is almost certain to do their best to lose tonight to assure the 8 seed).

Also, due to the weird schedule this year, Cleveland hasn't played in Chicago at all yet.

Him and Rose apparently hate each other dating back to high school, so maybe it had something to do with that.

I love how everyone's in a race to face the Bulls.

They asked Tim Legler and some other NBA dude I've never seen before who the Knicks should prefer to play in the 1st round, and both of them said the Heat.
