I assume that means they've locked down the tiebreaker over Miami?

Locked down, no. But I heard the scenario this morning that would have to happen, and while I don't remember the specifics, it's unlikely.

My understanding is that the Bulls magic number is 4 for the #1 seed.

And I don't understand how Atlanta has twice as good a chance at homecourt in round 1 when we're +1(due to tiebreaker) with 5 to play. Our schedule is harder, but not substantially so.

Rose about MJ:

His titles drive me. I'm not scared of him; if anything, it makes me work harder when I do train.

His GQ article (written by Leitch) was an interesting read. A little depressing too as Rose talks about how much his fame sucks for a low key person like himself, and how Chicago apparently can't handle celebrities walking around town.

I think they must be giving Atlanta a pretty good edge in their game against Boston because it's at home. That makes sense for a computer model since Atlanta is 19-9 at home while Boston is 15-16 on the road. Both play the Knicks, but Boston gets them in NY where the Knicks have been much better while Atlanta gets them in Atlanta. Detroit at home is easier than Milwaukee at home, the computers probably don't know what to do with Dallas/Orlando, and the Clippers/Miami game is close too.

So if they have Atlanta winning 60% of the time over Boston, plus an easier other 4 games, it makes some sense why they would project them to have HCA so much. I personally think it will go to Boston because I think they'll beat Atlanta, but whoever wins that game has the clear inside track.

I was thinking how we need to wrap Rose in bubble wrap for the offseason, but then remembered the freaking Olympics are this summer :x

I'd love for Miami to have to go through New York and Boston before they visit the UC again, but looks like Boston will finish 4th.

Boston can't finish worse than 4th, so pretty much the only way they'd face the Heat is if the Pacers choke hard.

And honestly, I don't see New York being all that much of a speed bump.

It's hard to say. The Knicks are 13-5 since their coaching change. And they do have the 7th best point differential in the NBA (5th in the East). They've had a wildly fluctuating roster all season long and so it's been hard to judge their true talent level. Stoudamire could come back as early as this weekend, with Lin not likely to be back unless they somehow made it to the 2nd round. My best guess is that it would be a 5, maybe 6 game series with the Heat. But most of the games will probably be close, which is probably better than most 7-8 seeds would give (and certainly better than the Bulls will likely get, as Philly and Milwaukee will both likely be very easy outs).

Rose and Deng likely out vs Bobcats tonight. Thibs says game time decision. Neither will participate in shootaround. Deng says he's still got sore ribs.

"It's soreness from just playing. I don’t feel anything until after the game. I remember walking back to the locker room and it was kind of sore. I took my shoe off and felt throbbing. Walking was kind of messed up."

Rose said the pain is in both his right foot and ankle, which he sprained on April 8 and forced him to miss the next game on April 10.

"It’s just my ankle. It’s not the actual bone. It’s the tendons around my ankle that has fluid on them. The fluid causes pain. Right now, I’m just waiting for the fluid to move around and try to get it out as quickly as possible. I should be all right."

Wade and Bosh are both resting tonight vs the Raptors, but all the big 3 will play vs the Bulls tomorrow.

And while the Bulls chances haven't changed in today's playoff percentages, the Celtics took a hit on their chances at HCA in the first round with that loss last night...

Somewhere Scottie Pippen just got really angry and he doesn't know why.

i kind of feel like i'd rather the bulls play boston in the second round than indiana. indiana plays us tough, even with rose at 100%. the bulls have played boston 3 times in a row without rose and alost won all 3.

From last year, Indiana isn't afraid to be physical. I would think they could wear down Miami a bit.
