Sounds like Rose will probably come back on Sunday...

"Each day he’s done more and more," Thibodeau said. "He’s feeling better and better. We’ll see how he feels (Thursday). He did quite a bit (Tuesday) and did more (Wednesday). His speed and quickness looked very good. So it’s very encouraging."

"I felt good but me playing (Thursday), I don’t know," Rose said. "I was able to run a little bit more but not at my top speed.

"I’m running, able to move a little bit more. So I’m getting healthy. Taking three weeks off, my conditioning is definitely a worry. But in basketball, you should be able to fight through it."

I don't think the Bulls were prepared with a solution to LeBron blanketing Rose last year. I think they will be much better prepared for it this time. Hamilton and Lucas provide much better perimeter shooting along with Deng and Korver than what they had last year.

Hamilton is as far from someone you can count on as it gets health-wise, not to mention that when he's played, he hasn't added anything significant and even more troubling, they have to run entirely different sets to get him open. In the Derrick Rose offense it's all high screen and roll. In the Derrick Rose tries to get Rip Hamilton involved offense, it's all low screens with Rip running the baseline. So to recap, Hamilton - needs screens to score and slows Derrick's natural rhythm. Deng - needs screens to score. Korver - needs screens to score.

As for Lucas...who is he guarding in the scenario where he is in the game late to provide Derrick with an alternative option? Wade? Or do you want Derrick wasting energy guarding Wade so Lucas can guard Chalmers? If that happens, Spoelstra pulls Chalmers and they roll with LeBron at point forward, Wade, Bosh, Miller and Anthony. Aka, back to square one (and probably your vacation plans) Bulls.

The way we have a chance to beat the Heat is if we destroy them on the boards, if Taj Gibson plays significant minutes with tons of energy, if Derrick plays like he did earlier this season in Miami in that narrow loss where he makes every ridiculous, acrobatic drive he attempts and if everyone else hits their jumpers.

That's a whole lot of if's when all that has to happen for Miami to win is to deny Derrick Rose clear scoring opportunities late in the game.

Hahaha it wouldn't be an upset? Are you kidding me? All of the media and NBA world are picking the Heat to come out of the East.

They have 3 All-Star players, one of which is the best player in the world. They have a surrounding cast that is decent enough to role play in the playoffs and play top notch defense. The one weakness they have is something we're unable to exploit completely.

That's not really true. Just a week or two ago, Magic and Broussard said that Miami looked shitty and wanted in on the Bulls bandwagon over Miami and Jon Barry told them there wasn't any room. Smart guys? Not really, but the entire media and NBA world is definitely not picking the Heat, which is what you said.

Perhaps they'll rejoin the Miami Heat bandwagon after watching the Bulls get destroyed by OKC and losing to the Rockets.

Listening to Mark Schanowski from CSN today talk about DRose, the groin injury is a serious injury which had some sort of small tear and it will take Rose a long time to get back to 100%. Speculation being that he'll return to normal halfway through the playoffs. Now to pick the Bulls as a favorite in anything significant to this point is foolishness. This team is banged up and out of sync with Rip and Rose.

Sources said Mike James will be re-signed for the remainder of the season on Thursday.

Watson is quietly battling lingering soreness from the left ankle and left elbow injuries he sustained earlier this season, and Thibodeau uncharacteristically hinted at sitting Watson in some stretches of April to let him heal.

"This time of year, you have to strike that balance of rest and playing," Thibodeau said. "We also want him to be in rhythm down the road. The way the schedule is this month for us, if we need to sit him out of practices, we'll do that. Give him an opportunity to rest there.

"He has played through some nicks. He's got a lot of mental toughness."

Rose participated in the entire Chicago Bulls' morning shootaround and said he will test his recovering groin before Thursday night's late tipoff against the Boston Celtics.

Rose said if he doesn't play against the Celtics, he will "for sure" play in Sunday's matinee against the Knicks in New York.

Miss more wide open 10 footers Rip

Guy has barely played all season. Im willing to give him a few games to come around so long as he stays healthy.

Noah with a couple excellent defensive showings there. Bulls with the lead. Let's keep it up, get to the weekend on a high note.

Thought this was an interesting schedule quirk:

In the Bulls last 14 games, their opponent was on the 2nd night of a back to back 11 times.

In that same span, the Bulls have played just 2 back to backs.

That will happen when you play the most games in the league over the first three months of the season

Pierce is killing Deng

Thank you for posting this. Because of it, Deng is killing in the 4th. :)
