I was working today so I missed this. What the hell?

Bulls went down 19-3 in the first 5 minutes. That's pretty much it.

Nah. The Bulls at 2 separate points in the first half cut the lead to 7 and seemed to have all the momentum only to have the Nets hit some garbage 3 or for Lucas to make a dumb turnover leading to a fast break and before you know it the lead is 14 again.

While I won't argue the 19-3 (I think the worst was 22-4) was a major backbreaker, the Bulls got themselves back in the game only to again be outplayed.

The biggest thing, and Thibs had quite a tantrum in his postgame conference because of this, was that the Bulls did not come to play yesterday. I know that's a big cliche (like a losing team having no heart and a winning team having tons), but the Nets were constantly getting loose balls and had a ton of offensive rebounds, especially in the 2nd half. I'm aware the Bulls too had a good number of ORebs but when you shoot something like 35% you will have a lot of opportunities. Face it, the Bulls thought this was a gimme, even Thibs did by not playing Rose despite him saying 2 days in a row that he's not in pain anymore. It just bit him in the ass this time.

I expect a fired up Bulls team tomorrow afternoon and its looking optimistic that Rose will be back.

Forman tries to not say definitively, but sounds like Rose is likely to play today.

"As long as everything goes good once he gets on the floor," Forman said on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "He looked a lot better yesterday, and he's pain free. So as long as he's feeling OK there's a chance he'll be on the floor today."

I wish I had the day off so I could watch the game.

Perusing RealGM, I see that a guy on the Bulls site says we're looking at Jodie Meeks, Chase Buddinger, Courtney Lee(again), Leandro Barbosa, Michael Beasley, and Anthony Morrow. I don't go to that site all that often, so can someone clue me in as to whether Ralph is an insider or not? The majority of people there listen to what he says, at any rate. Beasley and Morrow are interesting, depending on what we'd be giving up.

Budinger would be the best bet, but I'm not sure what incentive Houston has for trading him.

i hope lin keeps going off and the knicks lose a bunch of games. my dream is that everyone in ny blames melo and they panic and put him on the market. melo for deng and asik. rose/melo/rip/noah/boozer is better than miami.

Well duhhhhh.

According to a source, Derrick Rose has let the management of the Bulls know that he would like to play with Pau Gasol if a trade can be consummated.

“He hasn’t said so publicly, but he has made that known privately,” said the source.

That would be a terrible trade for the Bulls. Nobody on that team comes close to being able to guard Lebron.

I feel like a healthy Deng is essential in beating Miami.

A Howard deal is the only way I can see the Bulls considering considering trading Deng.

And notice how those trade demands have quieted down now that Orlando has moved up to the 3 seed

Agreed. I don't think Gasol solves our problems if it means giving up Deng.

On the other hand I would consider Noah, Butler and picks for Gasol...

Rose

Hamilton (if he's ever healthy again)/Brewer

Deng

Boozer

Gasol

Agreed. At least with Howard, you keep Lebron and Wade out of the lane and relegate them to jumpshots and flopping (Wade's specialty).

Id absolutely deal Deng if the right trade presented itself. Its not like Deng can stop Lebron, and I think Ronnie is a better on ball defender anyway. Deng's D has gotten ridiculously overrated. He wasnt known as a eraser until Thibs emerged.
