Glad Rose is okay (I was suicidal for a minute there), but why are all of the Bulls starters in there up by 16 with 2 minutes left?

Fortunately, the Bulls just have one stretch of three games in three days and the third game is home vs the Wizards.

 

Still...every starter except Rose had a decent break tonight. Lucas wasn't awful in his time, he needs to be getting more than 8 minutes.

Thibs HAS to start swinging some SF minutes from Deng to Brewer. Give him at least 8 at SF and 16-20 at SG and try to bump Deng down to 36 minutes or so a game. Deng won't hold up at this rate.

The only part of it that worries me is that these were the first 2 games of a 9 games in 12 days stretch which I believe is the worst the schedule can get. It starts with a 4 games in 5 night run, which in a normal season is the worst the schedule can get. Then they get one day off and come back with 5 games in 6 nights including obviously 3 in a row.

 

Rose is young and Deng is too but we are playing a frequency of games that you would never see in a regular schedule. We don't really know how players respond in that environment.

 

Then I remember similar complaints about last year and remember hearing him say afterward how gassed he was against Miami.

I hate to be "that guy," but if Jimmy Butler can't get any burn in this brutal stretch, I don't see when he's ever going to get playing time.

 

There was no reason for the entire starting five to be out there with two minutes left and an 18 point lead. Thibs has proven to be a really good coach, but I don't see how something like that makes sense in a season like this.

Bulls about to go 7-1 with wins over potential playoff teams Orlando, Atlanta, LA Lakers, LA Clippers, and Memphis.

 

Atlanta again tomorrow, coming off back-to-back overtime games. They might be a little tired.

Yeah I think 20 of the first 30 are on the road. We still have a 9 (!) game road trip that starts at the end of this month. That's gonna be brutal.

Yeah but we have the February trip too which most years is just about as long. For some reason they made it super long. After that though I think we get like 7 home games in a row.
