Is Monta Ellis the dumbest player in the NBA?

Strike that.

Is Monta Ellis the dumbest player to ever play the sport professionally?

Rose looks broken.

All the sudden he's treating the ball like a hot potato and as a result is passing it to his less talented teammates.

All that passive play has gotten him a whopping 7 assists tonight, below his average last year.

oh look rose is chucking up a ridiculous amount of 3's again.

i wonder what his fg% could look like if he realized it's not good to toss up 8 threes when you arent good at them

The Bulls look bad, but man, the whole NBA is ugly early on.

This. Give it some time. Our starting 2 guard has been on the team for, what, a week and a half?

For anyone wondering why Dwight Howard may not want to come to Chicago....here's what Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo has to say:

And as one high-ranking sneaker executive says, “Adidas simply cannot have its two signature players on the same team in the same market. … Derrick is the face of that market, owns that market, and Adidas can’t possibly have maximum bang for its buck with Dwight there.

“It serves Adidas no purpose. They need them as rivals in competing markets.”

Howard knows this, too. He has an Adidas renewal on deck in the next year, and Los Angeles and Brooklyn guarantee him maximum money. The shoes aren’t the sole reason, but it’s a reality. In an NBA where the owners want the superstars worth $50 million and more to make far less than market value, it’s hard to imagine you’ll get them to take far less on endorsements.

I would think that a potential dynasty involving the faces of your brand would be a positive for your brand as well but I don't know much about marketing.

I don't completely understand why the big city thing matters that much as far as marketing a player goes. Everyone knows who Dwight Howard is now, why is it such a big deal that he be in the LA/NY market exactly? I'm sure there are plenty of benefits but what are they?

This gives me some hope.

Interestingly, De Vos’s mindset also opens up the Howard sweepstakes for any number of previously disqualified teams. Howard may have put New Jersey, Dallas and Los Angeles at the top of his wish list, but if veteran-laden trade packages are enough to bring Orlando to the table, the field of possible trade partners would grow significantly. It would also ostensibly increase the number of teams willing to trade for Howard without any extension or contractual commitment; if a potential trade partner is forced to only break down its current core rather than trade away long-term assets, the idea of gambling to retain Howard becomes much more sensible.

Who on the Bulls is a part of their current core that isn't a long-term asset? I don't think Rip Hamilton and a draft pick are going to get it done.

I don't care. I'd trade Noah, Deng, and multiple first round picks without a guarantee of a contract extension. We'll see how he likes Chicago after he and Rose bring a title here this spring. Worth taking the risk of winning and then a possible Howard extension. At the very least, the Bulls would have a ton of cap room after the season for FA signings and/or trades.

way too many turnovers

- as promised, Rose is attacking the rim tonight.

- these refs must be getting paid by the whistle
