Don't overthink it, just use the best two players.

This is definitely a logical approach, but is the most effective use of the bench really just to give yourself the best odds on bye weeks?

There's a reason those players are bench players, to me. Injury recovery being the primary reason. Sure, if two players are really close in ability you may play matchups, but the only time Roddy White should be benched is if he's on a bye or playing on one leg.

Ok I got another one.

Pick 2:

McFadden @ BUF

Hillis @ IND

McCoy @ ATL

Best v KC

Also, I'm already starting Stafford and the Lions D against a Lions fan.

Geez. The rest of your team must suck. Or you have a small league.

McFadden and McCoy. Ride the horses.

Since all my waivers went through I have 1 more:

Steve Smith vs GB

Henderson vs CHI

Ingram vs CHI

I can't wait till Ingram has some good matchups already. I don't like starting 3 WRs.

Although I'm starting Ingram this week, I'm a biased Bears fan and will say Steve Smith. See if the Newton/Smith connection can keep it up against the Pack.

Should I even entertain the thought of playing Alex Smith over Drew Brees? The only reason the thought has crossed my mind is because Brees is facing the Bears and Smith is facing a Cowboys team that did allow over 300 yards passing to Mark Sanchez.

Absolutely positively not.

Don't ever think of benching a stud like Brees for a piece of crap like Smith because of a bad matchup. You might be right once in a while, but usually you'll be kicking yourself in the end.

Yeah when I didn't get a response that's the way I went. #1 receiving target and they'll be playing from behind. Has potential.

Ingram has a good stretch of schedule after this Bears game, pretty happy I got this guy so late in my draft.

The safest play IMO is Hillis (the Colts are missing Gary Brackett and Ernie Sims, their run D is poor, and the Browns won't necessarily be playing from behind as it would be during the Manning years-I'd say Hillis has at least a 70% chance of putting up at least one TD during the game) but McFadden and McCoy probably have more upside. McCoy's the best player on the best offense and McFadden and Hillis have the best matchups.

8 team league. I'm getting offers for both McCoy and Hillis. My WRs are Bowe, DeSean Jackson and whatever on the scrap heap looks good. Oh I also have Ray Rice.

Anyway, I've got an offer of Mike Wallace for Hillis that I could pull the trigger on.

Thanks for the help everyone.

I'd definitely take Mike Wallace for Hillis when you are that loaded at RB. Hillis will likely be the guy who sits the bench most weeks and Wallace is a huge upgrade on Bowe. That would leave you with a very balanced roster. And you still have Best to backup on bye weeks.

My receivers are weak.

Pick 1:

Jabar Gaffney vs. Arizona

Mike Thomas vs. Jets (Revis Island)

Brandon Gibson vs. Giants

With Amendola out and Bradford in, and the Giants' injured secondary, I think Gibson is a good shot. I claimed him this week and will start him to give Braylon Edwards/Alex Smith another week to figure it out. Then Gaffney, based on matchups.

Actually, now that I think about it, since Gibson goes Monday night, I'll keep him as my plan B to Nicks if he ends up not playing, and I'll just start Edwards. That way I can drop Hixon (the Giants' plan B to Hicks) and pick up Gaffney for the bench.

Any thoughts, neeed 2

Tolbert @ NE

McGahee vs Cin

DeAngelo Williams vs GB

Tate @ Mia

Sproles @ Chi

I'd go Sproles and Tolbert. Chicago will be giving up the short catches to Sproles all day.

I've seen some mixed predictions on Sproles, though some of the doubt is misplaced because I think the Bears defense is going to have one of its rougher weeks. If Moreno is for sure out, McGahee could be a solid choice too. McGahee will be lower risk, Sproles is higher reward.

I got cold feet about starting Braylon Edwards. Good thing too. I've got Brandon Gibson going for him tonight, and I doubt that in PPR he'll score less than Edwards's 3.1 pts. I need Gibson and Hicks to combine for 21.4 points tonight. I just hope that Hicks doesn't pull a Foster and get pulled from the game early because he shouldn't have been playing yet in the first place.
