So, barring anything horrible happening, this will be winning streak #2 on the season.

Leave it to our Cubs to wrap their first two winning streaks of the year with a 5 game losing streak.

Your Cubs, maybe. MY Cubs are about win 14 in a row.

Is this the end of the "Pirates are contending" talk?

If they drop this they will have lost 7 of their last 8 and 10 of their last 13

Damn, I just watched a replay of Colvin's home run. He was maybe 5 feet away from hitting it into the river on the fly. Instead it bounced on the little sidewalk that borders the river and in. He would have been the 2nd person to hit one in the river on the fly.

Can anyone name the only person to do that?

I figured everyone knew that since it was brought every single time the Cubs played the Pirates when they had Ward.

It's like we can do no wrong. Colvin's hitting like a star.

Barney reaches badly and whacks something weakly over the shortstop.

Is there a full moon tonight?

So close to tieing a record

What record?

Team record for most home runs in a game. They hit 6 tonight and Colvin missed one by inches when his double hit off the top of the wall. The record is 7 which they last did in 1977.

And then Russ Ortiz toed the rubber

Why again is this guy holding a roster spot instead of having someone like Carpenter up here getting some experience?

6 HR so far tonight has to be more than any other game this season, right?
Not just this season. It's the first 6-HR game since 2006.
