Well, I finally got interested enough to look up DJ Lemaihu's minor league stats and let's just say i was surprised to see he wasn't Hawaiian

Really nice pitching day.

I think we can expect around 70 pitches from McNutt today. I'm excited to see how Beeler does. And Kurcz has been coming of late, so I'm interested there, too.

For college kids in the Peoria area, tickets Thursday are $5 at the box office with a valid college I'd. Beer and soda are $2 each.

Robert Whitenack was the SL Pitcher of the Week and Ryan Flaherty was the SL Player of the Week last week.

Can we count HBP in plate discipline for Vitters today? :)

Nice performance by Beeler thru 4. Nice being an understatement. I just can't get myself to say the word for fear it'll jinx him. He's perrrffff....

mcnutt has stunk - 3 ip, 4 h, 4 r, 3 er, 1 bb, 2 k, 1 hr, 1 hbp, 1 wp.

beeler has been very good, on the other hand - perfect through 4 ip with 2 K's.

kurcz - 4 ip, 2 h, 1 er, 1 bb, 5 k.

Minor league no-hitter jinxes are even less real since pitch counts are so strict.

psssssst... jinxes aren't real.

Oh really? Beeler never made it out of the 5th inning. Giving up 4 hits, 3 runs (all earned) and a HR while only retiring one. And that happened immediately after you wrote the word "perfect". I blame you.

i'll accept that blame.

in happier news, mcnutt has salvaged a decent outing and more importantly seems to be upping that pitch count. 5 ip, 5 h, 4 r, 3 er, 1 bb, 4 k, 1 hr, 1 wp, 1 hbp, 6 go/4 fo, 75 pitches/48 strikes. not bad.

Next game he should be able to go 90+ pitches.

And in even happier news, J.J. Bour is 3-3 with a HR. He's now batting .327 with 11 HRs.

Well, he didn't swing at it...

in 3 plate appearances thus far today, vitters has seen 5 pitches, swung at 4 of them and was hit by the other one. Not writing him off or anything, but seeing that didn't make me happy.

ha continues to show off the good contact skills, as he's only struck out once in 7 games at AA and also drew his first AA walk tonight. and gunned down a baserunner from the OF.
