You should be able to get your money back if that is what you want.

Per my understanding the Cubs have always had an informal policy of refunding rainout tickets, but I received an email from the Cubs organization today indicating the game had been postponed until June 28th and 'there will be no refunds or exchanges' of the tickets. For a fan who lives in Mobile, AL, attending the June 28th makeup game is not going to be feasible. Can anyone confirm there is still an informal policy of refunding rainout tickets or is the email I received a firm stance taken by the new ownership?

Maybe the policy has changed, but I attended a rainout either last year or the year before and the Cubs sent out information that instructed ticketholders to mail their tickets into the box office for a refund. I mailed my tickets and they credited the card that I had used for payment.

yeah, i believe the policy has changed recently. If I felt confident I could get my money back by reselling the tickets myself, then I'd be fine with investing a little bit of my time to do that. However, I'm not super confident I'd be able to sell them for face value. I'm going to implement a 'squeaky wheel' approach to this initially and see if I can get the organization to refund the money.

So is this going to be one of those "mutual off-day" deals where the Giants come here for one game in June?
No, the Giants are back in town for another series then anyway. The make-up game is the afternoon game of a day-night DH; the night game was already scheduled.

Kind of an odd scheduling quirk that the Giants come to Wrigley twice this year.

If the game gets in, were looking at

Fuku RF

Barney 2B

Castro SS

Aram 3B

DeWitt LF

Reed CF

Pena 1B

Awful backup catcher C

Even with a day/night doubleheader on June 28th we must have increased our odds of winning this game. Lincecum vs. Coleman, DeWitt in the OF, Hill catching, and Johnson starting could have been really ugly.

Does that mean I can get my money back for the game on Saturday that I was kicked out of in the 1st for refusing to sit down in the rain soaked bleachers when there was no one behind us that we were blocking from the game?

Update - The Cubs did refund the cash I paid for the rainout game tickets despite the new rainout policy. I wasn't hassled at all. I sent an email to the organization on Sunday, and they replied today indicating all charges were refunded to the card I used to purchase the tickets.

I had tickets to this game, too, though with the weather I wasn't crushed about the postponement (also, the pounding headache from my hangover Sunday). Anyway, hopefully I will be able to, but not sure I'll be able to make it up to Chicago for a weekday game.
