Never started one of these before.

Thru 2 weeks, only 3 undefeated teams. 2 of those teams play each other (D-Block and Bazingas).

The points leader is 0-2. With exactly 1/2 the league within 60 points of the leader.

Oh and I'm #1 in Power rankings.

so the rule is for acquisitions that we cannot add/drop during the week? i'd like to make a transaction - do i need to wait until the games are finished on sunday to do so? or can i do it now and it won't process until sunday?

Depends on the type of transaction. If I trade you my starting 1b for your starting 1b, we can put our new 1b's in right away. Trades usually allow for roster changes. Bringing your normal starting 2b in from the DL on the day he comes off the DL is typically okay as well.

If I drop my SS and you want to pick him up, you can make a claim for him, but he won't clear waivers until after the first Saturday night after I drop him. If you pick someone up off of the free agent pool, you can only place that player in your starting line up to replace someone you traded, or to replace an injured player or some type of scenario like that.

To replace someone in your line up now, that player will need to be hurt or retire or be on bereavement or something of that nature. Otherwise, you'll have to wait until after game start on Sunday before you can make that roster change.

In a nutshell, your starting line up that starts for the games on Monday are supposed to be the players you play all week, barring unforeseen circumstances, like an injury or a trade or whatnot.

Looking at your roster in live scoring, it appears as though you have 3 relievers in your line up. That would need to be corrected also, as we only allow 2.

Which 2 of the 3 do you want in there this week?

the ones not named mcgee. sorry, didn't know that was a rule.

so say i wanted to drop victor martinez and add koyie hill (i do not). can i make the transaction now, or would it process immediately? basically what i'm asking is if the only time you can physically enter the transaction is after the sunday games are completed and before the monday games start?

You'd be able to make the move now, but you'd then be without an active catcher this week. Martinez would be gone from your team, and you would not be allowed to put Hill in your active lineup until the coming Monday. You can pick up players during the week, but they can only go on your reserve list unless it's for one of the reasons mentioned by Brian.

And I want to play you the week you put Hill in your lineup. :D

I'm hoping I can get away without having a starting third baseman again this week.

You and me both. My 3b hasn't been on the DL at all, and he has a whopping 2.25 points on the season.

Down 30 points and one pitching start despite a gem from Lincecum. Not how I hoped to start the week.

I was not expecting domination by Ted Lilly. That was a big boost. Hopefully my bats stay awake this week.

I had no chance last week losing to the high score.

Where did Power Rankings go? Nevermind!

I don't recall if this specific issue has been addressed before, but is a relief pitcher losing his job as closer a valid reason for a midweek witch? Franklin has been replaced as closer by St. Louis.

I would tend to say no since he is still a RP. Our starting positions are for RP and not just closers.

I gotta agree with Clint on that one. We aren't allowed to make substitutions for a guy just because he sucks at what he does.

No.

I was hoping he'd keep the job for at least this week. Now he's going to settle into middle relief and throw a few garbage shut out innings for your team.

Well then, I'm glad Joe Nathan lost his spot during the weekend so I could drop him Sunday and pick up a replacement closer for this week.

Fair enough; I'll replace him for next week then.

There are several middle relievers putting up more points than closers. Your better off going with them most of the time rather than the piss that is Franklin.

Interestingly, Franklin himself gave me positive points today after being replaced as closer. I still plan to replace him when I can next week, though.

Agreed. KRod has been non existent for me so far this year, while Aaron Crow just set a major league record for appearances without giving up a run while also getting at least 1 strike out in each outing, and he's sitting in my minor leagues.

I liked Aaron Crow's comment regarding his major league record. He basically wondered aloud how long it took them to come up with that one.
