That Boozer contract is gonna end up being a real albatross.

Not when GarPax packages he and Jo for Dwight Howard. #delusions

Then you're SG problem is solved by Agent Zero. Win-Win-Win!

ESPN Stats and Information released this intriguing statistic: On 25 possessions, Rose never passed after crossing halfcourt or receiving an inbounds pass. On those, Rose shot 7-for-22 and drew three fouls, scoring 21 points.

On the other hand, Rose after passing went 5-for-10 and scored 13 points and assisted on 22 other points.

I'm leery about making definitive statements about who can afford what with the labor unrest, but how are the Bulls supposed to fit Crawford (or somebody similar)into their budget with Noah's contract ready to escalate? They're ~3M under the cap right now, and the only expiring contracts are Kurt Thomas and guys in street clothes.

Even with Scalabrine and Thomas off the payroll, the Bulls are committed to $5mil more than their payroll this year...

Maybe. They also have multiple tradeable contracts as Bogans, Watson and even Taj have team options after next year. Brewer and Korver also have tradable contracts that have at least some value (signed for under 5m/yr for 2 years after this one).

The only players signed long term are:

Boozer (4 more years)

Rose (likely to sign 5 year extension this offseason)

Deng (3 more years)

Noah (5 more years with extension last fall)

The rest expire this season, next season or the season after.

The Bulls have a lot of flexibility despite being held to 2 pretty bad contracts (Deng and Boozer)

Edit: Obviously, this all depends on the new CBA having at least some resemblence to the current one.

Stating the obvious but Crawford teamed with Rose would be great for this offense.

I wish the Bulls could get a guy like Afflalo who opposing defenses actually woukd have to check unlike Bogans but who also would provide great defense unlike Crawford.

I'm not sure about Crawford. He will be expensive and is one dimensional. Sure he has a little more to offer than korver in terms of being able to score off the dribble but he's not a better shooter or defender. And he's prone to jacking shots.

It depends what he will take in terms of money and what his role will be.

He can fill in at the point, create his own shot, handle the ball, spread the floor from the weak side and hit big shots.

Aka, everything the Bulls not named Derrick cannot do.

So unless you enjoy the constant, predictable isolation sets our offense relies on now, you should be on board for a Jamal Crawford acquisition.

Was checking out this free agency list by position...

Mike Dunleavey made $10mil this year? wtf?

Now you can see why the Pacers were bad for so long. Dunleavy at 5 years, 45 million and Murphy at 6 years, 58 million and the Pacers had to acquire them in the same deal just to get rid of Stephen Jackson. They never were able to get rid of Tinsley and paid him for 3 years just to stay home.

Interesting that the heat got Chalmers, House, Jones, and Ilgauskas to play for them for nothing. And they are all unrestricted FAs. Some of those guys have been really valuable. I wonder how many FAs are willing to jump on the Heat bandwagon out of charity. Let's see if James jones will resign again for league minimum after he was waived to pay Bosh 18 million.

Gar Forman and Pat Riley tied for Executive of the Year.

Forman and Riley tied with 11 votes each. In an oddity, John Paxson, who technically ranks above Forman but works in concert with him, finished third with three votes.

So GarPax wins then?

That's the way I see it.

I'm quite shocked about this. I 100% agree with rose for MVP and Thibs for coach. But I can't see how you can't give it to Riley for signing the big 3 and getting FAs to sign for he league minimum. Perhaps Garpax deserves a lot of credit for signing Thibs. But they dont deserve credit based on their FA signings.

They've built probably the best bench outside of Dallas.

Not too hard to build a bench with tons of cap room and a great foundation in a big market. And Thibs was a no brainer as well. A lot of teams wanted him. He chose the Bulls because of the team in place.

Anyways, nobody cares about this award.

Well a lot of teams wanted Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh too. Why does Riley get credit for them, but GarPax doesn't get credit for Thibs and the bench?

On the other hand they signed maybe the worst contract of the offseason.
