Randall Cobb -WR Kentucky

The Browns are lucky to have Cobb fall into their laps.  Cobb is a smallish receiver with good speed who is fearless going over the middle. He will be a great addition to the Browns new West Coast offense.  Also gives the Browns an extra return man should Cribbs get banged up.

I'm intrigued by Cobb. He's a really interesting prospect to me, but I'm not sure just how valuable he is. He's either an extremely versatile, somewhat explosive player who can do a little of everything and be very valuable to a team or he's a kinda smallish guy who doesn't have a real position and never really stands out because of it.

We're well over 24 hours so I'll go ahead and make the pick.

The Texans are switching to a 3-4 and, after taking their NT of the future earlier, they still need depth either at DE or rush OLB. Connor Barwin and Mark Anderson can both move to OLB, but adding another big pass rusher can help the depth either there or at DE.

So, the Texans select Pernell McPhee, DE/OLB, Mississippi State. Splendid Splinter and the Patriots are on the clock. I'll PM him.

Welp... I'm not sure. My buddy that was helping me with the Pats is on vacation for 2 weeks. While I know the Pats well, but I'm not sure who to pick or which direction to go? So if anybody wanna help me out here, I appreciate it...

Feel free to laugh at me and completely ignore this idea if you like, but I don't think a QB would be that outlandish here. Brady's been excellent at times, injury prone at others and is getting a bit up there in age. Ricky Stanzi is a guy who could probably fit pretty well into that NE offense given time and the Patriots don't really have many other needs that have good value at this point.

Another idea would be DeAndre Brown out of Southern Miss. Fantastic talent, but a bit of an injury (he was the guy who had the much publicized broken leg in a bowl game his freshman year) and character concern. Purely on talent Brown's a great value here and the Patriot clubhouse might limit the concerns about him a bit.

Deunta Williams of NC is another possibility, though not the value Brown is for me. We're also getting into the area a team might reach for Buster Skrine of UTC. I doubt that'd be the Patriots, but he's a possibility.

75. Detroit Lions - Davon House, CB, New Mexico State

House presents a good value here and CB is a definite area of need for us, even more so if we can't re-sign Chris Houston, who's decent but sorely lacks ball skills

looking back, Carter seems like a fair reach at 44, and were it at all possible, i'd love for us to trade down from that pick for a couple of mid-rounders and go something like Mason Foster & Moffit instead; seems to be good LB depth in this draft

With only one QB on the roster, SF should probably reach a bit and draft Iowa QB Ricky Stanzi. He's arguably the most pro-ready QB in the draft next to Christian Ponder, and he fits the criteria Harbaugh laid out for the position.

But Neifi called SF first, so it's ultimately up to him.

The Titans finally decide to go with a QB here and take a guy who can fight with Rusty Smith for the "QB of the future" battle.

The Titans select Pat Devlin, QB, Delaware. Devlin doesn't have the best arm strength, but Mike Munchak has been rumored to be wanting to go to more of a west coast style offense and Devlin should fit that system well. After the QB run that hit in the late 1st/early 2nd rounds, there was no QB available in the past couple of picks for the Titans who would be able to start next year and Devlin at least has a real chance to fit Munchak's new system.

The Rams and Formerly Snayke are now on the clock. I PMd him.

Safety has not been an issue for the Rams since OJ Atogwe became one of the better ballhawks in the league, but with his departure, another hole has been created on defense. I thought about taking Bruce Carter here, but I'm trying to think like Spags, who favors journeymen linebackers. Plus, there's no guarantee that Carter will be healthy. Another receiver is still needed and a second running back to take the pressure off Jackson is a very pressing need, but I don't think the Rams can ignore how weak the safety corps is. Given that this is a lousy draft for safeties, they have to get the best left here:

The Rams select Jaiquawn Jarrett, FS, Temple

The Dolphins need a running game to take some of the pressure off new QB Jake Locker and they'll go in that direction here to platoon with Ronnie Brown.

The Dolphins select Taiwan Jones, RB, Eastern Washington. It came down to Kendall Hunter or Jones here and I chose Jones because his 6'1 height may make him more likely to build himself into a starting NFL RB. Hunter at 5'8 just probably isn't tall enough.

The Jags and Raisin are now on the clock. I PMd him.

Apparently I picked too soon.

You didn't pick too soon, I posted too slow. I usually have enough time to send off the PM and then make my post, but you were quicker than me.

Any good values out there at CB and OL?

I think Chattanooga CB Buster Skrine is a good value here.

Plus he's an Al Davis type of player - skyrocketed value after great combine numbers (second fastest time of anyone at the combine this year).
