The Chiefs take JJ Watt, DE, Wisconsin

Oh man, that was quick (maybe because the Colts are picking earlier this year).

As I hope happens in the real draft, the Colts have a few choices at offensive line -- while no guarantee to be the position picked, it must surely warrant first look. Gabe Carimi, Derrick Sherrod (perhaps raw and with the run-first collegiate offense maybe shades of Tony Ugoh), and even Mike Pouncey (though I struggle envisioning the Colts taking a guard in the first round). At other positions, Corey Liuget or Stephen Paea could work at DT. The best corner/wide receiver (seriously) could also be in play, though they don't seem to be as good of value as the available players on either line.

At this point, not breaking ground with the pick, but Gabe Carimi would seem to be the pick. If he can't play left tackle, too bad, but the Colts desperately need a right tackle as well. Frankly, and CCP feel free to disagree, but Carimi is who I'm hoping for in real life. I feel confident he will at least be a solid RT, with the potential to either be an excellent RT or a solid LT. Either way, it's a position of need and a player that is sure to help.

I would agree that nobody jumps out on the board as being such good value at the other positions and so the default choice of offensive tackle is best.

With that said, I'm going back and forth. If the Colts are looking to draft a LT in this spot, it's got to be Sherrod. He's a better pass blocker and while the motivation issues scare me a little I actually think he's relatively polished. If they want a guy who can play RT or maybe even guard and upgrade their run game then Carimi is the pick, but I'm worried about his pass blocking plus some knee issues in his past. But he is at a Big 10 school and the Colts love picking from Big 10 schools.

Still, the lockout trumps all. With no news before the draft on if Johnson is coming back, I think the Colts play it safe and pick somebody who will adequately guard Peyton Manning's blind side in his rookie year. It's much easier to find a decent right tackle or guard through free agency So I'll disagree with you and pick Derek Sherrod.

Truffle has been PM'd.

This was kind of tough, but I narrowed it down to a DE and decided on Adrian Clayborn from Iowa

The Ravens need help at corner pretty badly as they have some depth (Josh Wilson, Chris Carr, Lacedarius Webb, Fabian Washington) but not a lot of upside. The corner market isn't great at this point, but there are a couple of intriguing guys out there, so the Ravens choose to go with the most intriguing guy still on the board there.

The Ravens select Curtis Marsh, CB, Utah State.

Marsh is a former tailback who will need some time to develop and get used to the position a little more in the NFL, but he has good size (6-1) and has shown sizable improvement from 2009 to 2010. This is a pure upside pick, but it's one that could turn out very well for Baltimore.

Interesting pick. I actually think Marsh is as ready to play as anyone. Not saying he's going to be at a probowl level as a rookie like McCourty, but he won't kill you on the field his 1st year. His level of competition is actually stronger than it gets credit for. This year, he faced Ryan Broyles of OU (2012 1st round pick), Vincent Brown of SD St. who's going to be a 3rd-4th rounder this year, Greg Salas for Hawaii another mid rounder this year, and faced Boise St with Austin Pettis and Titus Young a couple of 2nd-3rd round picks. Plus, Fresno St, Nevada, and San Jose St all have dynamic pass offenses. Can't vouch for how well he did in all those games, but the senior bowl and combine invites show that he caught a lot of attention this year,.

I agree with the position but I like Brandon Harris more.

Mike Pouncey. With the free agency of Justin Blaylock, Tyson Clabo and Harvey Dahl combined with Todd McClure's inevitable retirement, the interior line is a need. Not the sexiest of picks, but a quality player from a quality school that can play either guard position or center. Between Pouncey and Mike Johnson, (3rd round G out of Alabama from last year) we should be ok on the inside of the line.

Very interesting as I'm surprised this guy is still on the board for the Patriots at the 28th pick... He's the best available player IMO. I personally met and hung out with the guy a couple times. A great guy on and off the field. He's perfect for the Pats. While he doesn't have amazing athletic abilities or skills, he makes up with hard work, high motor, and a knack for making big plays. I see a lot of Mike Vrabel in him.

Ryan Kerrigan, DE/OLB, Purdue

Patriots are jumping for joy right now with the picks of Solder and Kerrigan...

Any Bears fans around? I would lean to Wilkerson from Temple here. I would really hope for more to select from amongst the OL in this situation (or Corey Luiget).

OL Benjamin Ijalana, Villanova

DL Muhammed Wilkerson, Temple

DT Stephen Paea, Oregon State

CB Brandon Harris, Miami (FL)

WR Jon Baldwin, Pitt

Personally (since I'm helping you out here), I would go with Wilkerson... Paea and Harris (or Aaron Williams as I think he can be a CB in the NFL and fits in the Bears scheme IMO) aren't a bad pick as well. Baldwin and Ijalana are a little bit of a reach here as I'm not sure if they're the best at their position that's available (Baldwin probably is, but he needs time to develop to be that stud WR). Wilkerson or Paea makes the most sense for the Bears IMO out of the guys that are available, but I like Wilkerson more at the moment. Martez Wilson could be interesting here as well. It's a tough call for you as I can see any of these guys being picked and wouldn't be that mad about it (although if the real draft actually went down like this- I rather have Bears just trade down).

Yeah, Wilkerson would be my pick. Better than Paea, bigger need than CB and WR. Ijalana's a reach.

I knew Marsh defended and played well against Pettis against Boise this year, but didn't realize Utah State also play OU and San Diego State. That's an impressive list of receivers he's had to deal with.

If he is polished enough to come in and play significant snaps as a rookie, then I like him even more. Him really catching on at the senior bowl and combine were good signs for him, but I still considered him a guy still learning the position. Given his inexperience at corner, I kind of figured he'd be a nickel guy to start out and then within a year or two he'd replace either Wilson or Carr - but if he's more developed than I'd heard, he could step in for one more immediately.

I thought strongly about Harris at that pick - it was between Harris and Marsh - but liked the upside of Marsh a little more. Plus, the Ravens were looking at bigger corners last year (Chris Cook for sure), so I thought the little bit of added size to Marsh would appeal to the Ravens as well.

I could easily see them taking either there, though.

I'll make the Jets pick here in a minute. If anybody has input, I'd take it. I'm thinking maybe Harris if Cromartie bolts.

He's definitely still learning the position, so he has considerabe upside. He does need to hit the weight room a little, but I don't think he's completely raw and has to be redshirted as a rookie. He's a great athlete. And you can't coach 6'1".

They just picked a CB in the first last year. Don't know that they'd do back-to-back. I'd go for a 5-technique. I'm sure they're interested in Wilkerson, who just went.

Yeah, Kyle Wilson likely would replace Cromartie - they could use a third CB though, if they like Harris enough.

Just realized Justin Houston was still available. After cutting Jason Taylor and Vernon Gholston and having Calvin Pace and Bryan Thomas starting on the outside, that seems like a direction they'd go - plus Houston is BPA at this point.
