I'm setting the O/U on the amount of errors the Cubs commit today at 3.

No errors through the first 2 innings so far today...

3 scoreless for Z. 2 hits, 2 walks and a HBP. No errors (although a routine DP ball was turned into a FC by a poor throw from Ojeda). Colvin had a nice grab at the wall.

Flip the "____ innings without an error" sign back to zero. E3 on a missed catch by Moore. Then a walk. Then a 3-run HR. Dolis not looking so hot this afternoon.

So this is two straight good appearances by Z (I know it's spring and he has only logged 5 IP) but with how he has looked so far in ST and in the second half last year I wonder if he really did figure something out???

I honestly wouldnt take anything from Spring Training appearences, especially ones in late feb/early march. I highly doubt he's approaching hitters anything like how he plans to in the regular season at this point.

However, if Z had been getting shelled, there would be people flipping out on here.

Take the positive news where you can, imo.

Woody pitches a clean inning, K, F9, GO 6-3, 17 pitches (12 strikes).

Heading to the top of the 6th, Cubs up 4-0

Colvin (1B): 3-3, solo HR, R, 3 RBI

Castro: 1-3, triple, RBI, R

Garza: 2 IP, H; took a liner off the back of his ribs on the right side, but finished the inning cleanly, took his next AB and finished the day off in the bullpen to reach his pitch count.

Not a great 1st for Cashner: 1 run, 2 hits (1 double) 2 walks, no K. 2 groundouts, 1 flyout.

Could have been a lot worse though. He did a good job of limiting the damage.
