Didn't Briggs miss a game too?

Yes, he missed the Seattle game, which was when I believe Cutler still wasn't 100% post concussion.

I was misled by sports talk radio! Also I forgot.

Pisa has failed to accumulate stats in 4 games, and I believe he left another one after making one tackle. Also, the line was plagued by injuries early in the season. Garza and Williams missed time. Desmond Clark was slated to be a part of this offense but hasn't played much at all after some early injuries. Manumaleuna was injured in training camp and I think that made him limited early in the season. Also, Major Wright was expected to compete for a starting position but was too injured to get the job and too injured to play most of the first half of the season. Then there's Hillenmeyer. I'm not sure where you got your starter numbers of games missed, but it's not true. They have been relatively lucky with health, in comparison to GB and INDY, as well as last year's team. But they haven't completely avoided the injury bug either.

It was Hub just throwing stuff out on the radio...I should've checked it out before stating it. And I knew about Williams and Garza...I clearly just wasn't thinking.

Freaking Hub, it's probably a 2-man race between him and Don Banks to see who can fall over themselves the most explaining how lucky the Bears have been.

For an NFL expert, Hub really doesn't know a whole lot of [expletive] about teams not named the Bears.

He doesnt' know nearly as much about the Bears as he should for such a Bears-centric expert.

I don't know much about Hub but he's clearly an idiot.

i think actually briggs missed the better part of both the seattle and washington games. he may have dressed for the redskins, but he didn't play much iirc.

he got fired by the bears and doesn't have the pride to slink off to another city and start over, nor does he have the shame not to badmouth them every single time he gets a microphone in front of his face.

he's in the middle. too crazy for boys town, too much of a boy for crazy town. scum.

That would appear to be the case since he didn't appear to make any plays in the Redskins game.

And to think I was a Vikings win from all but forgiving the douche. I'm a big Corey Wooten fan now.

Was just coming here to post this. That's amazing.

Love it. I wonder if he said the same thing to Cutler. When Jay was asked what Favre said to him on ESPN after the game, he smiled and said that he thought Brett was still out of it from the concussion. I bet he just didn't want to out him on national TV.

Hahaha Packers fans you supported a douchebag for 15 years! And Vikings fans support him now even though he's even a bigger douchebag now.

(PS I realize I support Jay Cutler)

Pretty much. We're all dopes.

I always felt Philly fans gave McNabb a raw deal during his entire time with the Eagles. But all this nonsense about him feeling disrespected and everybody running to his defense is sickening. The guy is an old crappy QB who is not performing. He does not deserve special treatment. Teams treat underperforming veterans this way all the time. He was a star QB on another team, but that time is over. He's a sub 60% passer with very little production and lots of turnovers. There is no upside to McNabb anymore. If an old vet isn't performing, there's no point in holding out for the hope that he will do better. For some reason people are trying to lump in his treatment with how he has treated Haynesworth, who has been about the most despicable bum in the league in terms of effort. If you don't perform, are old and cost a lot, you are on your way out in the NFL. That is the way it has always been. There's no point in talking about how unfair or disrespectful it is.

All douchedom aside he won us a Super Bowl and brought us to another. I'll forgive him eventually, but these last couple years have only cemented Reggie as my favorite Packer on that team.

I agree with the basic idea of your post but there are several issues at play that I think make his statement about being disrespected somewhat reasonable

1) He was randomly pulled out of a game with 2 minutes left. (which is fine). Afterwords when asked about it Shannahan made up some excuse about him not being in shape to run the 2 minute offense. Then later it was that he didn't know the 2 minute offense well enough. If you are gonna pull the guy because he sucks, just say it.

2) Then he was given a huge contract extension that has nothing guaranteed after this year unless he started a game for them next year. That was just bizarre. Was it hush money? We're they reaffirming their committment to him? Were they trying to motivate him to play better? None of this made sense.

3) Then he is replaced as the starter with 3 weeks left in the season and told he's being demoted to 3rd string. According to McNabbs comments he found out by the media. Shannahan didn't tell him until Thursday.

4) He's being replaced by Rex Grossman. It's not like theres someone else on the roster that either a) Has a better track record, or b) has a future as the Redskins QB.

It's just a weird set of circumstances that would seemed to have gone better if Shannahan and the powers that be were more upfront from the start. I realize its a difficult move to make for your fan base to understand, but it has to play out better than that.

No arguments that he wasn't playing well enough to feel entitled to remain as starter for the rest of the season.

It's weird, sure. But the most important thing is McNabb is a Redskin. The respect he built up was with Philly. He carries none of that with him to a new team that got nothing out of him. He claimed he found out about being 3rd from the media. Players claim that all the time. The contract was very clearly a "we aren't interested in you long time here's money now shut up" deal when looked at after the fact. If McNabb and his agent didn't realize that, they are morons. As for Grossman, he's 30 and there is no reason he can't be counted on as a veteran backup for the foreseeable future. Why not see how well he's grasping the system?

Can someone please explain to me, again, how Jay Cutler is a douchebag? I'd also appreciate if the explanation wasn't from an irrational Bears hater.

If his deal in Denver is what made him a douchebag, please reconsider the situation. They threatened to replace him with an inferior QB in Matt Cassel right after he made the Pro-Bowl. He deserved to be pissed.

Facial expressions and tone of voice is all I've ever heard people justify that claim with.
