Sit/Start Week 12

This week is a big one in my pay league. I have a chance to drive a stake into the playoff heart of the one guy in the league that seems to have my number and is the biggest ass in the league (and the commissioner). In the eight years I have been in the league we have played 12 times in the regular season and playoffs, and I am 3-9 all-time despite having the better team my fair share of times. This year he is 4-7 and tied for the last playoff spot (8th of 12 teams) and I am 7-4, sitting in 3rd (with a loss to him in Week 1). I would love nothing more than to knock him out of that playoff spot this week.

So my big decision this week is at WR, again. Pick three from this group in a non-PPR league.

DeSean Jackson (Phi) vs CHI...He is really a must play every week.

Steve Johnson (Buf) vs PIT...He would be an auto start most weeks but is facing the Steelers.

Randy Moss (Ten) vs HOU...He has killed me and it makes me want to vomit to start him, but he is facing the putrid Houston pass defense.

Vince Jackson (SD) vs IND...I have no idea what to expect, but should move in as the #1 or #2 guy on the most prolific pass offense.

Lance Moore (NO) vs DAL...He isn't really an option against the others, IMO.

Jackson, Johnson, Jackson seems obvious.

My QBs in one league are Vince Young and Favre.

Free agents are the following

Hill

Hasselbeck

McCoy

Anderson

Campbell

Troy Smith

Rusty Smith

Thigpen

I put in claims on the 2 Smiths cause I'm afraid of Hill's upcoming schedule.

Thoughts? Questions? Wondering how I'm in 4th place in my league with those QBs?

jackson, johnson, jackson

remember, moss will have rusty smith at qb...and you're right about moore not really being an option with the other 3 playing.

I have pretty much come to the same conclusion, but we are talking about the Houston secondary. They are beyond bad. I have a suspicion that Moss goes off for two TDs if I bench him.

As far as Smith is concerned, he did at least make a couple of attempts to Moss. One was a very nice throw for a TD that was called back for offensive pass interference (Moss kinda pushed off).

Thanks for the input. I am sure that it is one of those decisions I can't get right. With my history against this guy the two guys on my bench will each score 15+ points and the three in my lineup will score 15 total, and my team will lose by two.

A rare TE dilemma this week:

Cooley at home against Minnesota, OR

Heap at home against Tampa

I'm leaning toward Cooley -- he got quite a few looks this past week, and I think Tampa's defense is stronger than Minnesota's right now.

The other "issue" I have, if you even want to call it that, is whether to FINALLY bench Randy Moss in favor of Welker or Knox. I think Welker is the no-brainer, and I'm pissed at myself that it took this long.

I concur with Jackson, Johnson (easy) and VJax (not as easy, but what are you going to do. Start Moss?)

Ouch. I don't know else what to say.

Wow, I guess I got Vincent Jackson coming back this week too. But do I start him over any of these guys?

Larry Fitzgerald- TD on last play really helped me this week

Jacob Tamme

Pierre Garcon

Calvin Johnson is in stone in my lineup.

I'd give Fitzgerald one more start to see how VJax does.

Thanks.

Here's the other thing though -- I forgot I stashed away V-Jax several weeks ago. Do I bust him out and play him instead of Welker? All indications are with their injuries at WR and TE he is going to step right in.

Hill without a doubt is better than those scrubs

I sat Moss and it has paid off. He only got two points. Johnson had only six, and should have had another ten. It turns out my throw away WR, Lance Moore had nine points on Thursday.

I am going into the late games with a 20 point lead, but he has Vick and Janikowski against Orton and DJax. The game will probably be decided tomorrow night. I have Gore vs Breaston and Crabtree.

What a disaster. VJax went out after two plays...no points. Gore would have run for 150+ easy but goes down with a season-ending injury. Johnson drops that TD pass. My kicker (Bironas) gets shut out. And my team losses by two points.

My team went from being one of the favorites to probably looking forward to next season. Its a keeper league so at least I will have Foster to look forward to again next season, I guess.
