This is exactly what I expected to see when Michigan finally played a team that wasn't awful. With Illinois good performance against PSU, I think Purdue is Michigan's only hope for a win the rest of this year and bowl eligibility.

 

I teeter between UM finishing the season 0-7 and 1-6. I think Denard might still have another 200/200 game against a bad Big 10 day that can offset the other offense doing anything they want against the D. I'll be satisfied if they can finish 6-6 with this level of talent.

Denard has had a terrible game. Two interceptions in the endzone with 3 turnovers total. We know about Michigan's defense. Illinois played well today, but you aren't giving Michigan any chance against PSU? Come on.

I'm impressed by MSU. I'm always expecting that "Sparty, no!" moment, but they have played very well the past 2 games. I think the talent is pretty similar between these 2 teams. 3 turnovers are the big difference right now.

Michigan has way too many freshman and sophomores playing, especially on defense. Mistakes are going to happen. Denard is only a sophomore himself and was forced into passing situations which he still struggles with. I don't think it was a Lloyd Carr vs John L Smith type situation. I just think Michigan is too young of a team right now and don't have enough talent on defense to make mistakes.
