If USC took timeouts when they should've they would've had at least 50 or so seconds to get in position for a game winner and Washington hadn't really stopped them all night. Just agonizing stupidity.

Fire Kiffin.

Dear God no. He's the greatest thing to happen to USC since the sanctions hit.

I knew Kiffin was a huge jerk but I honestly didn't expect that level of moronic stupidity from him.

Lovie wouldn't have done that in a million years and he can't help himself from making dumb decisions.

I loved the look on Lane's face as he's staring up at the clock thinking "I should really be calling timeout or something here." If you're going to use 2 timeouts to ice the kicker, why not just use all 3?

dumbass

Watching USC not only lose, but to be given no chance to respond, based solely on the stupidity of their head coach was very nice. Actually, I don't think it is even stupidity, to be honest. I think it's arrogance, plain and simple.

that loss could be really costly for USC's hopes of going to a top-tier bowl this year.

Sarcasm?

no when i made this post i had absolutely no idea that usc was under a bowl ban this year.

lol just checking. It's not like they're even close to being good enough for one anyway.

That ending to the Tennessee game was just flat out heartbreaking (for a football game). To see Dooley and the players celebrating like that and then to have it wiped away really, really sucks. Tennessee completely outplayed LSU and Miles' clock management was truly atrocious on that 3rd down play. Tennessee deserved to win that game.

That said, however, the penalty was completely legit and the correct call. It's yet another sign of a young team that guys got mixed up on the substitutions, but that's the way it goes. Good call by the refs and I like how they went and checked with the booth to make sure it was the correct call. Good officiating job there.

This was one of the games I felt we had a chance in and to come that close really hurts. However, Georgia looks very beatable at this point, there's still Vandy and Memphis on the schedule and Ole Miss and Kentucky don't look particularly intimidating (especially getting both at home). This team still has a chance at 6-7 wins this year if they don't completely lose it after this game.

Also, it's a good sign that Dooley's running a disciplined program when we go two straight games with no turnovers (five straight halves, I believe) and only commit 2 penalties for 6 yards in this game. I'm anxious to see what Dooley and the staff can do with some talent.

Say Michigan vs Oregon were to happen this season... how high is the score?

Oregon would put up at least 90 on Michigan's defense.

I'd be intrigued if Iowa played Oregon in the Rose Bowl this year. Oregon's offense is almost unstoppable and Iowa's defense is really tough to score on.

I was going to say that I don't know how many total points there would be, but Oregon would have at least 75% of them.

UC Davis 14

San Jose St. 13

I know San Jose sucks but this was a huge win for UCD. Really, really needed this one. Also their second win over an FBS team in six years (beat Stanford in 2005).

pair a player like denard with iowa's defense and that team could win every game 70-0.

Ball State beat Central Michigan 31-17 to equal their win total (2) for all of 2009.

A very pleasant surprise. Either the MAC is really really historically awful (more likely) or Ball State just played their best game in 2 years. Actually, both of those are true.

With Western and Eastern the next two, both at home, BSU might actually have a prayer of starting 3-0 in the league.

I suppose it should be nice that ND won by 18 and I found myself deeply unimpressed with the team's performance (for the last three quarters anyway). The last time ND won a game over a BCS Six foe by more than 18 (not counting truly awful Washington State and Washington squads) was North Carolina four years ago.

Also, I'm not sure who is going to beat Alabama or Oregon.

I'm pretty sure that will be you're title game although Florida is not that best team Alabama will face the rest of the year and Oregon will play USC still (USC might see that as their bowl game since they aren't going to one this year) and Arizona. Alabama still has to go to LSU and South Carolina. They're better then those teams but those are going to be really tough places to play and they already look like they could at least be challenged on the road.
