UCLA has knocked the first and second string Houston QBs. All 3 of their QBs have awesome names: Case Keenum, Cotton Turner and Austin Elrod. Not surprising names for a team from Texas.

If Iowa played special teams halfway like they have in the past they are winning this easily. As it is though I'm happy with it being tied. I really hope their defense can hold here.

Wow. Arizona completely blows the lead but Iowa can't break the tie, missing the PAT.

Iowa-Arizona has been entertaining in the second half. Heck, there have been a lot of good, close games despite the lineup looking disappointing.

Haha. The PBP guy called Arizona's defense the Desert Storm.

Wow, the Arizona defense came alive there.

I'm pissed off. Iowa played awful. They could still make a run at the Rose Bowl but they won't beat Ohio State playing like they did tonight.

I'm really loving Masoli sucking at Ole Miss while Oregon isn't missing a beat without him.

If it makes you feel any better, at least

still love you.

I can say with some degree of certainty that it's been a while since I wondered what the hell a coach was thinking to the degree that I wondered it on Kelly's gem calls of an option play and a QB draw on 3rd and 2 and 4th and 1 back to back. Another heart-crushing loss. I'd say ND's used to that by now.

his team is sucking not him. He's the only one out there that seems to give a damn. they LITERALLY dropped 3 TD passes (I'm talking right in their hands in or right next to the endzone) yesterday on three different drives that amounted to a total of zero points. Masoli is the only thing positive going on with that team. they are dreadful. I figured they'd be alot better than this, but I'll admit I was way off on that.

Mark Dantonio suffered a heart attack last night. The AP is reporting a stent was put in place in a blocked artery. He will apparently be out indefinitely with OC Don Treadwill taking his place.

Michigan State will be holding a press conference shortly.

Mark Dantonio suffered a heart attack last night. Not much is known, but he's apparently "okay."

I was just coming here to post this. Wow. Hope he's okay and recovers fully.

EDIT: Apparently he's supposed to make a full recovery.

One report I saw said that the stadium game clock still had 2 seconds left when the ball was snapped.

Trib[/url]"]"After review, the Conference believes that the game officials correctly applied the proper mechanics and guidelines that are in place to determine, in a consistent manner, when a flag should be thrown for delay of game," the statement read.

The league went on to explain the mechanics, as they saw it, at the end of the Spartans' thrilling 34-31 win:

"The responsibility is assigned to the Back Judge, who in this situation was standing beneath the upright. Proper mechanics dictate that his focus be directed to the play clock as it approaches zero. When the play clock display reads zero, he must re-direct his attention to the ball. At that time, if the snap has not started, a flag will be thrown for delay of game. If the snap has begun, no flag will be thrown.

"Under these procedures, there will always be a small amount of lag time between the time the clock reads zero and the time the Back Judge is able to see the football.

"On the play in question, this lag time created the situation where it appears the play clock expired just before the snap. We believe the snap occurred well within the normal lag time for the Back Judge to make this determination.

This play is not reviewable under current NCAA rules."

Delay of game penalties rarely get called if the ball is snapped within a couple of seconds after the clock hits zero. And considering this was an apparent FG attempt with the back judge repositioned, that might delay the call even further.

Iowa is actually ranked higher at this point after a loss then they were last year when they were undefeated thus meaning they have a better chance at the BCS title now then they did last year at this point. Rankings are kind of stupid this early.

The only thing more annoying than Notre Dame being bad is the fact that people are willing to ignore that fact long enough to rank the team that just beat them all the time.

How many 3-0 teams are there that have beaten a BCS opponent though? I dont think MSU has a defense that will keep them in the top 25 but at this point their case for a top 25 is probably just as good as most teams that they are ranked ahead of.

26, plus Fresno and Boise who have a BCS win at 2-0.

And both Keenum and Turner are out for the season.
